2018 Frostproof G Hamilton Johnson talks senior year, upcoming visits and more
This season wasn’t a complete one for Frostproof, but for Hamilton Johnson, he showed up night in and night out.
The 6’3″, 190-pounder performed at a high level in his time at Frostproof, especially this season. The Bulldogs reached the Class 1A-District 8 final before losing to eventual state champion Wildwood.
Johnson called his senior campaign a good one overall.
“We did better than what a lot of people thought we were going to do,’ he told Prep Hoops Florida. “Individually, I had a really good year so it was fun. The biggest thing I learned being at Frostproof was how to overcome adversity.”
This past summer Johnson played for Impact Elite in Sarasota. In his first year with the program, he said it was a fun one. Prior to that, he spent his entire AAU career with E1T1.
Currently, Johnson has visits to Marietta College and The College of Wooster planned during his school’s spring break next week. He’s also been in contact with St. Francis Brooklyn as of late.
In terms of his biggest strengths, Johnson pointed to his scoring ability, defense and ability to score from all levels. He’s looking to continue to improve his jump shot.
Johnson is used to being the guy for his offense and that should help him at the next level. He does all the little things you want in a guard, including tough defense and full effort with the ball in his hands. Johnson is strong and reliable, two good attributes to have in a 6’3″ guard.
