We are less than two weeks away from the first games of the 2025-26 KHSAA basketball season. The excitement level for this year is high. This is the first time in a few years that we haven't had a few teams that are clearly ahead of the pack in the race for the state title. I am going to be previewing all 16 regions by breaking down the top 5 teams and the top 5 college prospects in each region. Being a top 5 college prospect and being a top 5 player in the region are not the same thing. There are a lot of really good high school players in Kentucky who are not necessarily great college prospects.

Brown has several D1 offers already and is, in my opinion, the top isolation scorer in Kentucky. A floor raiser who makes everyone around him better, Ja'Rye is a super talented lead guard and one of the best Sophomores in Kentucky.

Roberts will likely need to score more for Fairdale this season after losing Ferlandas Wright to prep school over the summer. Capable of scoring the ball or facilitating, Kamari is a tough guard who plays with a chip on his shoulder and excels at getting into the paint and creating for himself and others.

Already committed to Kentucky State, Wilder has been one of the biggest stock risers in this Senior class over the last few seasons. Adrian is an underrated athlete and a good shooter. He has really flourished under Coach Geary's leadership the last two seasons.

Jarel is a raw talent but has the physical traits that allow him to do a lot of special things on the court. He's a D1 recruit as a quarterback but also has that type of potential on the court. An explosive athlete, Butler could be the X Factor for Fairdale in the regional title race.
