On Monday, November 3rd we released our updated and expanded Prep Hoops Indiana Class of 2028 Prospect Rankings. Over the course of the last few months we have continued to evaluate across summer grassroots events, fall showcases and leagues, and our travels to specific high schools to watch their preseason workouts. As always, we look to update our rankings every few months and we wanted to get this latest update done before the start of the upcoming high school season. We were able to expand a big from ranking the Top 35 to the Top 50 while adding over 50 prospects in total bringing the Class of 2028 database to nearly 500 prospects. Over the course of this week we will be diving deeper into the rankings by highlighting stock-risers, new names, top watch list names, and much more. Let's dive on in.

Barnes would likely be the next prospect from the greater Evansville area to make the rankings as we expand. He was excellent at the junior varsity level for Evansville Bosse High School last year as a freshman and should emerge in a varsity role this winter. His athleticism and playmaking out of the backcourt shined over the summer at the Charlie Hughes Showcase for the Bulldogs. Look for Barnes to really start to solidify himself as one of the top Class of 2028 prospects in the Evansville area.

From a long-term prospect standpoint we have a couple of his [program_tooltip program_id='2847679' first='Refined' last='Indiana'] teammates ranked higher, but [player_tooltip player_id='2411078' first='Jaxen' last='Bennett'] was generally the straw that stirred the drink for that team. The 6'1" playmaker has transferred from Carmel to University High School and should make an instant impact in a talented backcourt for the reigning Class 2A State Runner-Up. Bennett is an excellent shot-maker and facilitator.

One of many talented prospects coming up in the Class of 2028 from southern Indiana, Boswell is one that we simply need to make a point of seeing more of soon. The 6'4" wing was an immediate standout at Scottburg High School and put together a strong summer as well. We look forward to evaluating him further soon.

One of a few freshman that got varsity action last year at South Ripley, Gunter will now be asked to step into a larger role this season for the Raiders. The athletic, 6'5" forward plays with a great motor and is consistently involved in the reading effort. Offensively he finishes on the rim run and on the roll where he can utilizes his fluid athleticism and good footwork. As he continues to grow and fill out physically his game could really take a leap.

One of the most difficult "omissions" from the Top 50, Johnson is certainly a name to keep in mind and will certainly find himself included in future expanded rankings. The 6'2" forward is a beast physically. He plays through contact so well, finishes at a high level inside, and rebounds on both ends of the floor. After stepping into a rotation role as a freshman, Johnson will be asked to do more a sophomore for a good South Bend Riley High School team. We are excited to see him continue to expand his game.

We had the chance to watch Park Tudor go through a fall workout a month or so ago and this sophomore guard really caught our attention. Platt has a chance to emerge as one of their best shooters and all-around scorers this season. He is a smooth ball handler, but also operates well off of the ball as a shooting threat. Platt will definitely be one that climbs into the prospect rankings as we continue to expand them.
