In it's third year, OYL has become the premier rec league for rising 7-9th graders. Prospects from throughout DE, NJ and PA flock to the Chase Fieldhouse to prove themselves in a competitive atmosphere. So with all that talent on display, here's the first of three groups of standouts:

[player_tooltip player_id='2767448' first='MJ' last='Boyd'] | 2030 First Class

With his reputation for winning at the highest stage, Boyd seemed to defy gravity while he made plays up and down the floor. As a driver he acrobatically jumped off the ground from atypical spots inside the arc and floated the ball high off the glass to evade shot-blockers. He also shot high-arcing, uncontestable threes from deep.

[player_tooltip player_id='2919223' first='Lloyd' last='Clark'] | 2029 Bucket List

A true hooper, Clark was whatever he needed to be in any given moment and showed a range of skills in the process. Best known as “Fats,” he shot the ball effortlessly and at an impressive clip off the catch. Pair that with simple dribble combos, Clark's ability to create for himself made him a threat with or without the ball. And when he drew extra defenders, the versatile guard made plays for others.

[player_tooltip player_id='2919230' first='Henry' last='Collins Jr'] | 2029 Bounce Republic

Always on go, Collins Jr proved to be one of the fiercest competitors throughout the league. He was relentless as he hounded opposing guards and stole the ball away. Even when he grabbed defensive rebounds, Collins kept his foot on the gas and raced down the floor for transition buckets. His motor also ran hot in the halfcourt, where he swerved around defenders with step-throughs and drove through others to the cup.

[player_tooltip player_id='2919221' first='Khory' last='Copeland Jr'] | 2029 Shooters Shoot

As a big guard and an overall player, Copeland Jr was in a league of his own. He wasn't afraid of contact at all; at times he sought it out. When attacking the second level of the defense, Copeland Jr would get into his defender's body, then fade away for a middy. And when it was time to get to the baja, he would spin off of his man or just bump him off his spot, then absorb more contact at the rim if need be.

[player_tooltip player_id='2813935' first='Zach' last='Deadwyler'] | 2029 Ball & Order

Deadwyler was unyielding as a primary initiator. Even when an opponent would score, he would respond immediately by inbounding the ball, pushing the pace, and getting a bucket right back. No stranger to the paint, Deadwyler would slither his way inside, then kiss the ball off the glass. His touch extended to long-range shots as well, able to hit shots in a variety of ways.
