[player_tooltip player_id='2614922' first='Kalil' last='Riley'] was a bright spot for Uptown Basketball MHC against Team Work. In a scaled down role compared to his responsibilities at Tower Hill, he hit a three early and attacked when the defense was tilted. Riley crashed the offensive boards too, even tracking down his own misses for potential second-chance points. But his defense translated the most. He covered ground to block shots and used his wingspan to plug gaps, resulting in deflections and steals.

[player_tooltip player_id='2698327' first='Gi'lyl' last='Conrad'] joined Philly Revolution MHA for the weekend and made an immediate impact. They already had ball-handling and some athleticism, so he stepped in and stepped up as a scorer and defender. On Sunday, the team was dealing with injuries and only had 5 total players. But it didn't matter because Conrad and company played within themselves and under control to get the win. He spaced the floor from deep and flew around defensively, highlighted by a catch-and-shoot three and the shot he blocked late in the second half.

[player_tooltip player_id='2935380' first='Prince' last='McKnight'] and Sideline Cancer MHC had success in a tough bracket. McKnight in particular showcased his versatility as a guard who could produce as the lead ball-handler and/or in an off-ball role. He created for himself some, getting two feet in the paint and getting to his spots for pull-up twos. He got to those same spots by playing off-the-catch, on top of spotting up from three. And despite his wiry frame, McKnight snuck into the paint for offensive rebounds and played with attitude as an on-ball and team defender.

On Sunday, [player_tooltip player_id='2380968' first='Nyle' last='Watson']'s Uptown Basketball MHC team overcame a rough whistle and early foul trouble to finish 3-1 on the weekend. Watson stirred the drink for them, getting two feet into the paint before making textbook lockouts to shooters. He also drove to score, using his wide shoulders to bruise his way to the cup and earn trips to the charity stripe. But even when my adversity hit, Watson still went all out on defense. His tenacity on that side of the ball gave them a boost at different points in the game.

[player_tooltip player_id='2867778' first='Turk' last='Wilburn'] set the table as others for Uptown Basketball MHC feasted. After being picked up fullcourt and navigating the pressure, he found his guys inside by throwing darts into the paint and by making quick passes as soon as a help defender stepped towards him. Wilburn primarily drove to pass, but the times he did call his own number were intriguing. His ability to hesitate or play with pace inside the arc opened up angles and space for his floater game.

Without any physical advantage or outlier skill, [player_tooltip player_id='2812233' first='Justen' last='Wright II'] brought a lot of nuance to the point guard position for Philly Revolution MHA. He calmly steered the ship in crunch time, using subtle and efficient moves to get his man off-balance and to tilt the defense for his teammates. However, Wright II scored when the time was right, typically opting to slip into the lane and absorb contact on deep paint touches. With the game on the line, Sunday, he used a ball-screens to draw the opposing big away from the rim, then layered the ball over the top to his roller for the game winning points.
