Who caught my eye at Day 1 of ECI Team Camp?

The ECI Team Camp is back in action once again with games starting on June 19th with teams from across the state coming in to compete. Over the next few days, we will be taking a close look at a high number of teams and prospects that college coaches will want to be keeping a very close eye on as the season approaches.    Despite his team coming up short in their matchup with New Bern HS, he displayed some impressive skills and upside that will have college coaches dropping in to see him over the next few years. He can score the ball at a high level off the catch or off the dribble and is a multiple level scorer that can be effective as a PG or SG.     It's very rare that you see a youngster that has yet to play a varsity game and already holds a D1 scholarship offers but that is exactly the case for this young man it and doesn't take long to see why. He has the height and wingspan of a college level SG already with an IQ for the game that is beyond his years. He does not allow himself to get sped up, can score the ball from outside with efficiency and has the potential to be a nationally ranked level player as he continues to progress.     Early on you can see that he has plenty of the physical traits that you are looking for in a division one level Point Guard. Solid height standing at close to 6'3, a very long wingspan and the athletic ability to make plays above the rim on both ends of the floor. He gets downhill with ease, can score the ball at a high level, but still finds ways to make an impact on the game even when his shot is not falling.     A new addition to the Laney HS squad, he brings quite a few years of experience to the team as he has logged some varsity minuets over the past few seasons. He's a quick and crafty Guard that has a blend of speed and strength to his game that causes issues for defenders. He understands how to get his teammates involved but can also score the ball when need.     Another prospect that has already played numerous years on the varsity level, he steps into the season looking to lead his team into a deep state playoff run. One of his best attributes is his ability to knock down shots from three-point land. He has impressive range on his shot and at his height, understands how to use it to his advantage to shoot over smaller opponents.     The big man should see a high amount of time and production this season as New Hanover looks for a new identity after the graduation of a high number of their players. In their matchup against South Meck, he was very active on both sides of the ball, scoring inside the paint offensively while blocking shots on the defensive end.     The southpaw found his rhythm early on by drawing a few fouls at the three-point line but once the game went on, you saw his full arsenal of ability from the perimeter. He has impressive range on his shot and seemed to knock down a big time three-pointer whenever his team needed it, helping to lead them to a big win over South Central HS.
