Anderson is proving to be one of Wilmington’s top guards regardless of class with the work he’s been putting in at Laney High School. He’s got the ability to run a team while also taking the game over with his own offense from time to time. Laney is 13-7 on the season and off to a strong 6-2 start in conference play. Anderson is averaging 15.6 Points, 3.5 Rebounds, 2.3 Assists, and 2.3 Steals on the season. He’s been efficient as well with 44/37/69 shooting splits. Despite not being the biggest guard, Anderson embraces the physical nature of the game and it is contagious to whoever he’s on the floor with. In what was probably the game of the day between Myers Park and Laney it was Kareem Anderson Kareem Anderson 6'0" | CG Laney | 2027 State NC whose crafty handle and tough shot making stole the show. He’s gotten visibly stronger and more athletic to go with a tight nifty handle and shot making skill on all three levels. Laney came up short in the contest but Anderson is having one of the best seasons from a senior guard in the Eastern part of NC.

Not many guards scored the ball at the rate that he did during the event. He got to his spots with relative ease and shot over most defenders once he got there. Some added muscle to his frame seems to have helped with his ability to get down and finish in the paint, he also had a nice two hand reverse dunk that was one of the plays of the weekend.

A new addition to the Laney HS squad, he brings quite a few years of experience to the team as he has logged some varsity minuets over the past few seasons. He’s a quick and crafty Guard that has a blend of speed and strength to his game that causes issues for defenders. He understands how to get his teammates involved but can also score the ball when need.

Anderson is a guard with sneaky bounce which he utilizes to finish around the rim but that’s not all he can do at 6-foot. He’s shown he can rebound and defend as well as he kicks off the NCISAA Playoffs averaging 12.9 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.1 steals per game. He’s faced some quality competition this season which should help elevate his game in the playoffs when they kick off on Tuesday.
