With the departure of Mason Dobie from First Flight HS to graduation Woods is the next man up in the Nighthawks program. The smooth shooting southpaw is one of the state’s leaders in three pointers made and after the performances I saw this summer I wouldn’t be surprised if that number nearly doubles. He had two instances at the ECI where he made 9 plus threes and he did so in a variety of ways, whether off the catch or off the dribble.

If you know First Flight and Chad Williams, you know he’s always going to have a couple of snipers at his disposal. Brody Woods Brody Woods 6'0" | SG First Flight | 2026 NC is exactly that. True in the gym range, tons of confidence, and the ability to attack a closeout to make a play. Came out of the gates firing with three triples in the opening quarter vs Wayne Country Day. His ability to hit shots well beyond the three point line combined with his comfort as a creator give First Flight a ton of spacing and options offensively. The lefty is a real gamer, he makes winning plays, timely shots, and is ready for any moment.

Arguably the best shooter I saw over the event was rising senior lefty Brody Woods Brody Woods 6'0" | SG First Flight | 2026 NC . I watched Woods and his First Flight squad 3 games and in all three he made at least 4 three pointers (9 against Swansboro and 8 against South Central). He has a quick release, with range out to the volleyball line and a solid handle in the half court.
