Expert Analysis
Miles Masercola | Prep Hoops Scout
Carlyle shoots on such a high volume that its legitimately impressive to watch him find a way to get up the shots that he does. Carlyle excels in Chad Williams uptempo system where he’s ready to shoot at all times, can create offense with the ball in his hands at 6’6″ and really contribute on the glass. Carlyle is still growing into his frame, I think we’ll see more and more progression, especially defensively in his game as that happens. Carlyle also has a mid-range pull up game that isn’t really on display a ton because of the style that is played, in college, he’ll be able to showcase that part of his game too.

Carlyle can play in the backcourt and the front-court but is asked to guard bigger guys for this group so he fits the criteria today. What he does do every night regardless is compete, make shots, and finish at the rim at a really high rate. He uses the respect defenses give him against them and attacks bad closeouts for easy baskets. His frame has bulked up and he’s now able to play through more contact at both ends in that 6’6″ frame. Carlyle is one of the main reasons First Flight is a legit NCHSAA 5A state title contender and schools should start to notice him soon.
