Marvin showed why he's the top ranked prospect in South Dakota's 2026 class, as he took over in the second half to lead Hoop City past [program_tooltip program_id='2075431' first='D1' last='Minnesota'] 16u. Marvin plays with the level of confidence that comes from a track record of putting up big numbers, as he averaged 35 ppg as a junior. Marvin pulled up for a handful of threes, and was a flash getting out in transition for easy finishes. With his tight handle he's able to maneuver his way through tight areas, and showed flashes of playmaking ability when he got into the lane.

Chance had some nice flashes on Saturday running with [program_tooltip program_id='2832803' first='Impact' last='']. The 6'7+ forward was an [program_tooltip program_id='2832803' first='Impact' last=''] rim protector, swatting a handful of shots, while also altering many more with his long frame and ability to contest straight up. Showed good mobility at his size to slide his feet into positions to make plays. Offensively he could go to work out of the block and finish with a left handed baby hook, but also showcased a face-up game with touch on his short/mid-range jumper. Still a bit of a project, but one to watch if he can add some strength/weight.

Lucas has always stood out as a shooter, and that certainly showed yesterday, but it was ability to run the point and contribute as a passer that really caught my eye. The Mankato East guard was zipping in passes to his cutting teammates with accuracy, and consistently found ways to get into the lane and force help-side defenders to step in on him. Always seemed to have his head scanning the floor looking for an open teammate. He played a key role in helping lead [program_tooltip program_id='2075672' first='Minnesota' last='Fury'] past [program_tooltip program_id='2075741' first='ND' last='Phenom'].

It's easy to see why Carter is so highly regarded in North Dakota. The 6'3 guard is a high level athlete, and was flying all over the floor to create for his teammates. Sees the floor really well when driving down the lane, and is also capable of making quick decisions when going full speed in transition. [program_tooltip program_id='2075672' first='Minnesota' last='Fury'] struggled to find a guy with the size and speed needed to contain Carter, and it was allowing him to score at all three levels. Showed his bounce with a dunk in transition as well.

Playing for a very talented [program_tooltip program_id='2455790' first='Howard' last='Pulley'] 16u team, Gideon won't always get a ton of shots. Instead he was able to find ways to contribute with his defensive energy and effort. As soon as he checked in Gideon was providing constant pressure on the ball, able to sit deep in a stance and consistently cut off his man on the perimeter. Has the combination of size and quickness to defend a number of different spots on the floor, and thrives at forcing turnovers to get out in transition. Threw down an explosive dunk early in the game against Martin Brothers.

Xaviahn has that ability to just flip a switch and take a game over for Hoop Habits. He did just that in the 2nd half against [program_tooltip program_id='2075741' first='ND' last='Phenom'], bringing a contagious level of energy to the floor defensively. He was battling over screens and sticking to his man like glue to force mistakes, and on the offensive end defenders just couldn't keep him away from the basket. Ivey has a nose for the rim, combined with the body control to finish against bigger players.

Deondre is a powerful point guard who can beat you with strength or finesse. He showed a tight handle to break defenders down, and when he got an edge he showed he can pin his man on his hip as he works his way to the rim. Strength allows him to finish through contact inside. When attacking he did a nice job of keeping his eyes up, allowing him to notice an open teammate if an extra defender stepped in on him.
