Top 10 Players in Nor-Cal
With so much talent in Northern California, we have decided to do a top 10 player list regardless of class. Each player has either signed to a division 1 school, or has received multiple offers from division 1 schools. This list is filled with talent that will thrive at the college level, and may potentially become professional basketball players. All have played in various showcase games and high level camps, and are at the top of the ranking board within their own class. Here is the list of the top 10 players in Northern California.
Jalen Green – San Joaquin Memorial HS (Class of 2020)
Jalen is a tremendous talent who has put up extreme numbers so far this season. He has Pro written all over him, and he will continue to showcase his ability throughout his high school career.
James Akinjo – Salesian HS (Class of 2018)
James is a tough competitor who goes for blood against every opponent. He is clearly one of the top point guards in the country, and is good solid scoring point guard.
Amadou Sow – Prolific Prep (Class of 2018)
Amadou’s ability to run rim to rim makes him easily one of the top players in Nor-Cal. He is a great athlete and causes a lot of problems on the defensive end. He will have a good season this year.
Jordan Brown – Prolific Prep (Class of 2018)
6’10’ big that has guard like skills and excellent footwork. With him at Prolific Prep, he will be able to showcase his ability against high level competition. There is no doubt that Brown is one of the top players on the west coast.
Elijah Hardy – Bishop Odowd HS (Class of 2018)
Point Guard with excellent court vision, and has worked hard on his outside shot. His basketball IQ may be one of the highest in the country.
Naseem Gaskin – Bishop Odowd HS (Class of 2018)
Naseem is a good athlete who has Russell Westbrook like explosiveness. Him playing alongside Elijah Hardy makes Bishop ODowd’s backcourt one of the best to ever come out of the Bay Area. Naseem is still working on his outside shot and as that improves, Naseem will be even harder to guard.
Logan Johnson – St. Francis HS (Class of 2018)
Johnson has an ability to score in many different ways, and has a great overall feel for the game. He expects to finish off his high school career on a tear before he heads to Cincinatti.
Isaiah Hawthrone – Tracy HS (Class of 2019)
Hawthrone is a very intriguing prospect as his stock has risen tremendously over one AAU summer. His 6’7′ frame and guard like skills makes him superior to his competition. He will pick up major offers over the next year.
Nimari Burnett – Prolific Prep (Class of 2020)
One of the best point guards in the country, who can score and also has good court vision. He has potential to be a Trae Young type of player in terms of being able to score at a high level and also rack up on assists.
Oton Jankovic – Prolific Prep (Class of 2019)
Jankovic who comes from Croatia, has drawn comparisons to former NBA player Andrei Kirilenko due to his athletic ability and high basketball IQ. Once he gets stronger and tougher, he could easily be one of the top prospects around.
