The youngest of the Grant’s talented young guns, Cogan displayed a physical presence around the basket & was relentless in attacking the offensive glass. A huge piece of Grant’s expected state title runs the next two seasons.

To be honest, the entire Grant roster has turned a lot of heads over the past couple of weeks. Most basketball experts have them on the short list of potential state title teams in both 2027 & 2028. We easily could have featured any of their starting 5, all who turned heads with their play. For our money, the guy who had the biggest week plus, was the 6’7 freshman forward. His athleticism & activity were on display, as he easily lead the tournament in put back dunks. He finished the week with 25 rebounds, despite facing serious foul trouble in game 2. As he continues to refine his offensive skill set, the ceiling is high for Cogan & the Generals.

is an intriguing young prospect who already shows the tools to impact the game. The freshman brings good length and strength, allowing him to crash the boards and battle inside. He’s an athletic player who plays above the rim and isn’t afraid to play through contact when finishing around the basket. Cogan also shows promise at the free-throw line, and with his physical tools and motor, he’s a very interesting player to watch moving forward. He finished with 14 points.

finished with a team-high 15 points and 9 rebounds, showing why he’s such an intriguing young prospect. The freshman brings good length and is a strong rim protector, using his athleticism to impact the game defensively. Cogan can jump out of the gym and frequently plays above the rim, while also crashing the boards hard. Offensively, he shows promise with a smooth fadeaway, the ability to knock down outside shots, and he’s a decent free-throw shooter, giving him a well-rounded skill set for such a young player.

Cogan didn’t necessarily have big production in terms of stats at the event, but the freshman wing’s potential and skill are clearly evident. He’s got the length and athleticism to compete at the rim, is a fluid mover with the ball, got up for some big dunks, and created some good looks in the midrange as well. He has the pace and ball-handling to push the ball down the floor and attack gaps in the half-court, and has a bright future ahead of him.
