1st Team
The first small school guy to make our all frosh team, Powell lead Banks to the state semifinals as the key piece to a team that featured no seniors playing key minutes. His athleticism & ability to score at all three levels make him a tough match up at the 3A level.

Banks pulled off maybe the biggest upset in state playoffs history when they knocked off the #1 seed Westside Christian. The Braves who often start 3 freshmen are lead by the talented Powell. The 6’2 guard is capable of scoring from anywhere on the court & plays with a poise rarely seen in a player his age.

Banks is tasked with playing at the #1 seed & defending state champion Westside Christian. For them to pull the upset, it’s going to take a monster effort from league MVP Powell. The talented frosh is considered a top 5 player in the 2029 class regardless of school size. His ability to score from all 3 levels should draw a lot of attention & open up scoring opportunities for his teammates.

put on an absolutely electric scoring display, leading the game with 37 points, just three shy of tying the school record. The freshman looked unstoppable, scoring at will and seemingly unable to miss. An athletic guard with a solid handle, he showed his ability to stretch the floor as a streaky outside shooter while also playing above the rim as a lob threat. Powell rounded out the night with 6 rebounds and 3 steals, delivering what might be one of the top performance’s at the 3A level this season.

One of the top athletes in the event, the 6-foot-3 Powell made a statement by dunking from the jump during drills. He capably used his strength and length to get to the basket for scores but also showed a smooth jumper from three-point range, and didn’t just shoot either as he was a factor on the boards and handed out a number of assists. The incoming freshman comes into Banks as potentially already one of the top players in the state at the 3A level. (JT)
