Brandyn’s Favorites to Watch so Far This Season

As the basketball season continues, several players have caught my eye with their impressive skill sets and contributions to their teams. Each of these athletes has showcased their unique talents, making them stand out in their own right. Here's a look at six players who have been nothing short of great so far this year.

[player_tooltip player_id='1578023' first='Ka'marii' last='Love'] has proven to be an underrated shooter with a knack for knocking down shots from various spots on the floor. His quick release allows him to score before defenders can contest, making him a constant offensive threat. Beyond his shooting, he's a willing and capable defender, able to guard either guard position effectively. His balanced game and ability to impact both ends of the court make him a key player to watch.

As a freshman, Noah has made an immediate impact with his shifty and explosive style of play. He excels at pushing the pace in transition, often finishing strong at the rim, even through contact. His improved jumper from mid-range and beyond adds another layer to his offensive arsenal. One of the quickest guards around, Noah's ability to change speeds and directions keeps defenders on their heels.

Malachi, an athletic guard from George Washington High School, has emerged as a two-way force for his team. His growth over the years as a reliable deep shooter has made him a consistent scoring threat. In transition or in the half-court, he's nearly unstoppable when driving downhill. Defensively, he raises the team's intensity, using his athleticism to rack up steals, deflections, and even blocks.

For four years, TJ has represented small guards with pride, but this season has been his true breakout campaign. His ability to score at all three levels makes him a dependable option late in close games, adjusting to whatever the defense presents. Whether it's a long three, a mid-range pull-up, or a tough finish at the rim, TJ delivers under pressure. His consistency and leadership make him a cornerstone for his team's success.

Montae might just be the best point guard in the 2028 class, and his performances this season for Cherry Creek prove why. His control of the tempo and ability to dictate the pace of the game set him apart from other players in his position. As a playmaking guard, he puts teammates in the best spots to score while also creating his own opportunities when needed. His poise and basketball IQ have made him the engine of his team's offense.

Lincoln, a young talent on a stacked Denver East team, is still carving out his role but has already shown flashes of brilliance. Offensively and defensively, he has demonstrated skills that make him one of the program's most promising players for the future. His ability to contribute on both ends makes him an invaluable asset as he continues to grow. With three years left to develop, Lincoln's potential is through the roof.
