Birley didn't wait long to announce himself in his freshman year. He went for 17 first-half points against Grandview and didn't miss a shot until late in the second quarter. He's a pretty intriguing prospect who runs a lot of point for the Rams but has the size and obviously scoring ability to play the other guard spot. He looked very composed and confident for a freshman handling the ball as much as he did.

Freeman plays with a lot of wiggle with the ball, but he also just brings great energy to the court on both ends of the floor. In their game against Lynden Christian, Freeman showed a lot of fight and ability to hit back. He was solid through the first quarter of the game but really turned it on in the second quarter with a big chase-down block off the backboard, and then five big points in quick succession to help cut the deficit in half, sinking a nasty step-back three and then cashing in a couple of shots at the foul line. He will be a major factor for Lake Stevens this season.

The Foster freshman has already shown he's a kid who looks to make plays. He's been an opportunistic defender thus far in the season, anticipating passes, challenging ballhandlers, and creating lots of opportunities for his team to get out and run. He's also done a nice job of attacking gaps in the half court, making plays to collapse the defense off the bounce, and even has some ability to knock down shots from behind the arc.

Bennett has put in a lot of work on his offensive game over the last year and it has shown early on this season. He's a solid point guard who thrives on the defensive side of the ball but has shown a lot more ability to score the rock from different spots this year. He continues to improve his jumper, not just in terms of range and consistency, but being able to create separation off the dribble and sink shots off of different gathers and on the move. He also does a good job shielding the rock on his drives and creating contact with solid footwork in order to get good looks at the cup.

Moen is a really solid two-way guard for Tahoma who is able to make timely plays and approaches the game with a pretty good IQ. He can make some tough finishes at the rim, shoots the ball well enough too, but it's his ability to control tempo, calm his team down when it gets hectic, and set things in motion that really has stood out so far this season. He plays strong and secure with the rock and is an important player for the Bears.
