Tom Keller | Prep Hoops Scout
harlot is a bulldog on the floor who becomes a constant nuisance for opposing teams whenever he checks into the game. He thrives on making hustle plays and uses his low center of gravity and quick hands to come up with steals and disrupt offensive actions. Offensively, Charlot does a nice job scoring around the basket and has a polished array of finishes that allow him to convert in traffic. He also possesses a strong feel for the game, consistently making the right reads and setting up teammates for quality scoring opportunities. His toughness, energy, and ability to impact the game on both ends make him a valuable presence every time he steps on the court.

Charlot, a multi-year standout in the CIAC, will join the Class of 2028 and head to Cushing Academy in Massachusetts. The 5’10” guard picked up an offer this spring from Fairfield and has the chance to add more this weekend as his combination of scoring, playmaking, and defensive instincts is sure to catch the eye of college coaches. He does a great job of finding his bigs in scoring positions off of his drives, gets wherever he wants in the half-court off the bounce, and is a tough scorer in the mid-range. Defensively, he can really move his feet and, when combined with his quick hands, is a threat to pick opposing guards any time they cross half-court.

Charlot, a junior guard out of Notre Dame Prep of Sacred Heart, is among the top playmakers in the juniors class in New England. He’s a 20.0 point per game scorer that can also step on the floor and rack up 10+ assists on any given night. He plays with elite quickness on both ends of the floor, has the ball on a string as a ball-handler, and has a deep bag as a scorer around the basket. His ability to make plays for others enhances his ability to score himself, opening up driving lanes and shooting windows from behind the arc. He plays with poise, toughness, and confidence and thrives as a three level scorer each and every night he takes the floor.

Read EvaluationAri Rosenfeld | Prep Hoops Scout
Coming off the bench to lead a platoon of five subs, Charlot changed the tenor of the game while getting Riverside out to a halftime lead. A throwback-style floor general with his finger steadily on the pulse of the game, he sets an aggressive tone with his bothersome on-ball defense and dynamic dribble-drive play. While he’s always ready to get the ball out of his hands at a moment’s notice, Charlot also showed proficiency creating his own offense as a downhill scorer. A necessary trait for any guard hoping to translate to D1 at his size, the defensive intensity and instincts really jump off the page at times as well. Charlot locks himself into being a D1 prospect (and gives himself a chance to rise even further) with continued work on incorporating a consistent outside shot to keep defenses honest.
