Prep Hoops Indiana Sophomore ID Camp – Team 2 Evaluations

Nobody does content and event coverage like Prep Hoops. We flexed those muscles on Sunday as we welcomed in 150+ of the best freshmen in the state for our annual Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. Then, we hosted our inaugural Prep Hoops Indiana Sophomore ID Camp which featured 110+ prospects including half of our Top 25 ranked players. It was an outstanding turnout and a great pool of talent for our first time introducing the event. Over the next week or so our team of scouts at Prep Hoops Indiana will evaluating every player in attendance at both events. For this one, we look at Team 2.   ***As you can imagine, trying to cover 110+ prospects in a single event is a very daunting task. Also, there always end up being a couple of jersey number discrepancies, so if you attended the Prep Hoops Indiana Sophomore ID Camp and DID NOT receive an evaluation, please reach out to Brandon Ramsey via email coachbrandonramsey@gmail.com or on Twitter @BRamseyKSR.***    Kern is a 6'0" guard out of Bedford North Lawrence that has been one of our top under-the-radar prospects in the 2027 class. After having a strong summer with [program_tooltip program_id='2400000' first='Indiana' last='Elite Team Indiana'] this AAU season, Kern had yet another strong showing at the Prep Hoops Indiana Sophomore ID Camp. He is a really sharp passer, has length at the point guard spot, and shows good quickness both on and off the ball. He is also a very constant scorer at all three levels. Look for him to have a breakout sophomore season coming out of our event.     McKee is a 5'11" floor general in the Class of 2027 and one of the few exciting young prospects for New Albany High School that were in attendance for the Prep Hoop sIndiana Sophomore ID Camp. He is very quick on the ball and really likes to push the pace in transition. I thought he showed good hands on defense while consistently jumping the passing the lanes and doing everything with a high motor. The left-handed twin between he and his brother Reece, Ashton is a dynamic playmaker.     Cooper is a shorter guard at 5'9" out of Henryville High School that has a scoring guard mentality in a lot of ways. At the Prep Hoops Indiana Sophomore ID Camp, Cooper showed a really quick trigger on the ball and was not hesitant to fire off a shot if it felt like it was in his range. You also got to see him play the role of lead guard at times showing off really high level court vision to be able to make plays on the ball.     Sinclair is a 6'0" guard that we have seen back-to-back years as he also participated in the 2023 Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase as well. He showed a little bit more of his game and the improvements he has made over the recent years here at the Sophomore ID Camp. I thought he made some sharp passes, got to the rim, and showed some spot up catch-and-shoot ability as well. He could be a factor for Trinity Lutheran this season.     Perry is a 6'1" shooting guard out of Columbus North High School that showed a few different things here at the Prep Hoops Indiana Sophomore ID Camp. He is a really tough guard that has good flow to his game and a willingness to attack the lane. Perry was very strong off the dribble when I watched him and thought he was one of the better rebounding guards over the weekend as well.     Rhodes is 6'2" wing out of Lawrence North High School that has a lot of length on the perimeter. He has had a big growth spurt since the last time we watched him about a year ago and that has seemed to open up his game a bit more. The athletic wing rebounded the ball well and was pretty good when he was able to get out in transition and run. Due to the constant pool of talent, it is unknown just how much varsity action he could see for the Wildcats, but he is a good future piece for them in waiting.     Signmund is a 6'0"-6'1" shooting guard out of Decatur Central High School that was easily one of the tougher guards that we saw at the Prep Hoops Indiana Sophomore ID Camp. He made a ton of hustle plays displaying his high motor. The talented scorer really went at the defense and flashed the ability to play through some contact. However, first and foremost, Sigmund is one of the top catch-and-shoot threats in Indiana's Class of 2027. He was absolutely on fire from three-point range throughout the event.     Hughes was one of our 2027's to watch at the Prep Hoops Indiana Sophomore ID Camp and most certainly showed his worth here. He is a really long wing at 6'3" and the Batesville High School prospect made a ton of plays off of ball screens and was one of the better off-ball scorers I saw on the day. Hughes is a very versatile wing that has a ton of good intangibles on the basketball floor. High ceiling for him.     King was one of the more physically imposing post players that we saw at the Prep Hoops Indiana Sophomore ID Camp over the weekend. The very powerful and naturally strong forward, King played very physically in the post. He even showed an ability to stretch it out a little and knock down a few impressive, tough jumpers. The home school product plays with a high motor and uses his big frame very well. King first burst onto the scene for us over the summer and continues to be a very intriguing under-the-radar prospects in the Fort Wayne area.     The 6'10" [player_tooltip player_id='2141045' first='Ben' last='McKinney'] was easily the big man with the most upside that participated in the Prep Hoops Indiana Sophomore ID Camp over the weekend. There is a lot of length to his frame and he is extremely mobile, especially in pick-and-roll situations. Along with his length, he is also pretty athletic and has some good vertical bounce, which he used to make plays around the rim. McKinney has an incredible amount of upside that will be unlocked over the years at Brebeuf Jesuit.
