Prospect Spotlight: Zay Stevens (2018)
Zay Stevens has been a mainstay for Rockledge since arriving as a freshman.
The 2018 guard is headed into his fourth season as varsity starter. Standing at 5’10”, 175 lbs., he plans to continue to be a leader and pure scorer like he has in the past.
“This past season was one of my best seasons so far,” Stevens told Prep Hoops Florida. “I️ learned that you can’t take any games off. The part of my game that grew the most was picking and choosing when and when not to attack.”
Stevens has been with South Florida Elite since the 10th grade. He called coach Steve Franklin his guy and he learned a lot of lessons and gained experiences playing for them.
Basketball started at age 6 for him where he earned the nickname X-ray.
Stevens called his biggest strengths his shooting and ability to get to the basket. He wants to improve every aspect of his game.
No offers have come yet for Stevens, but this kid is special. He came on quickly for the Raiders. He knows the offense like the back of his hand and can make everyone around him better. With USC commit and top 2018 prospect Elijah Weaver coming over to the school that will only boost Stevens’ stock.
