Now that we’ve looked at the new additions and stock risers, it’s now time to take a look at the positional rankings. We’ve broken it down into three different categories in guards, wings and forwards.
Here’s a look at the top 5 power forwards and centers in the class.
5) Gavin Kay Gavin Kay 6'8" | PF Hampton | 2026 State VA | 6’8″ PF | Hampton (#21 Overall)
Kay makes his debut in the rankings after helping Hampton to a state championship this year, and he’s a high ceiling prospect who is already getting division one interest. At 6’8” Kay has a basketball frame with long arms and a frame that should fill out nicely, and he is a good athlete for his size. He runs the floor hard and can be a lob threat and dunk threat in transition, he’s a good rebounder and rim protector on the defensive end and he has a budding skillset on the perimeter that could take him to the next level.
4) Frank Siaca-Bey Frank Siaca-Bey 6'8" | C Fairfax Christian | 2026 State VA | 6’8” C | Fairfax Christian (#18 Overall)
Siaca-Bey is a player we’ve had on our radar and after transferring to Fairfax Christian and reclassifying he helped them to their second straight state championship. He’s another high ceiling big man who is a bruiser in the paint with the ability to step out and play in the pinch post area as well. He has good touch out to 18 feet and consistently makes shots on pops and when his defender helps, he can go to the post where he has good hands and feet with soft touch at the rim and he makes an impact with his ability to protect the rim as well.
3) Jamese Jordan Jamese Jordan 6'9" | C Hopewell | 2026 State VA | 6’9” C | Hopewell (#17 Overall)
Jordan is an up and coming prospect in the Richmond area to keep an eye on, and is part of a young Hopewell team that is quickly on the rise. Jordan is a massive post player with a frame that needs work but should get there when he stops growing and loses some baby fat, but it’s also his strength in the paint that is one of his best attributes as well. He’s surprisingly quick and mobile for his size with the ability to get up and down the floor, he has good explosion to finish above the rim and protect the rim and he has great touch in the paint as well.
2) Connor Lyons Connor Lyons 6'7" | SF St. Anne's-Belfield | 2026 State VA | 6’7” PF | STAB (#12 Overall)
Lyons is quickly becoming a known commodity this summer with Team Loaded VA on the 3SSB Circuit, and he’ll likely play a much bigger role for STAB this season as they look to get back to a third straight state championship game. The 6’7” forward is your classic stretch big man, with his ability to knock down shots from deep while also providing a presence on the glass and in the paint. He has very good form from the feet up in catch and shoot scenarios, he has a quick release with good size so he doesn’t need a lot of space to get his shot up and he has become a more physical rebounder and finisher as of recent.
1) Latrell Allmond Latrell Allmond 6'8" | C John Marshall | 2026 State VA | 6’8” PF | John Marshall (#2 Overall)
Allmond has been one of the top prospects in the state since he was a freshman for John Marshall, being a starter on back-to-back state championship teams and a consensus nationally ranked prospect in the class. The 6’8” forward has been a man amongst boys ever since he stepped foot in high school basketball, as he dominates in the paint even against older and bigger competition. He’s a freak athlete for his size as he can play above the rim consistently and with authority, and he’ll let you hear it when he does. He has a frame that could already translate to the next level, he’s shown the ability to step out and knock down shots when he’s left open and he plays with great energy on both ends of the floor.
