Quincy was one of the top bucket getters from the event, showing a combination of size, strength, and change of speed on the ball to get to his spots. Did a nice job of using his body to shield off defenders as he attacked the basket, but was also so smooth getting to his spots and pulling up for mid-range jumpers. May not have had the varsity experience of some of the other players at the event, but is no stranger to competition from practicing day after day on a loaded Hopkins team. Was one of the top performers during the 1v1 portion of the event and carried that over to the full court games.

Judah Caine
Judah Caine
Judah is an electric athlete coming up in the Minneapolis North program. He showcased one of the quickest first steps at the event, and was able to use it to slash from the wing and get to the rack and finish. During the 1v1’s defenders had such a tough time keeping in front of him, as he could jab and then burst to the rim to score. Sag off and he had no problem elevating for a pull-up jumper. Liked his comfort to finish with either hand at the basket.
Salifou has a strong frame as just a sophomore, and puts it to use on both ends of the floor. On the defensive end he was able to cut off opposing guards and withstand some contact straight to the chest while avoiding fouling. Also possesses a long wingspan that allowed him to get up in passing lanes and make things difficult on the perimeter. Offensively he was at his best getting to the rim and playing off of two feet. Was able to use his strength to shoulder off defenders and go up balanced to finish with efficiency.

Daniel was one of the top shooters I saw at the event, and was making defenders pay for giving him too much space from deep. Mekonnen has a high arcing shot with a pure shooting form, and it was falling at a high percentage from beyond the arc. In these type of settings where guys are playing with entirely new teammates, some players tend to hunt their own shots. I thought Daniel did a nice job of staying unselfish and sharing the ball, waiting for open looks rather than trying to do too much off the dribble.
Highlights
Wicharleby Saby
Wicharleby Saby
Wicharleby is a scrappy defender who came out to compete on both ends of the floor. Really liked his effort defending on the ball, sitting deep in a stance and utilizing his lateral quickness to cut off opposing ball handlers. Saby was fighting over screens and fighting for defensive boards despite being one of the smaller players on the floor. Offensively he was looking to get downhill towards the basket, and was able to utilize floaters to finish over the trees around the rim.
Anthony Ramnarain
Anthony Ramnarain
As most players coming up at Lakeville North do, Anthony was playing an unselfish brand of basketball throughout the day. In a setting with a lot of isolation basketball, Anthony was willing to pass up a good look to get an even better one for a teammate, and that sort of ball movement was helping his team put points on the board. When Ramnarain did look to score on his own, he was a knockdown shooter from three who was also able to create some open looks at the rim with backdoor cuts off the ball. Anthony possesses a long and lanky frame on the wing that suggests he isn’t done filling out his frame just yet.
