There was a ton of freshman who took the state by storm and showcased their talents in a big way during their first varsity season. Here are some freshman from the Northwest Conference who caught my eye and showed potential.

[player_tooltip player_id='2182748' first='Hunter' last='Calloway'] - Squalicum HS - Hunter was the best freshman in the conference last season, averaging roughly 15 points a game and shooting about 40% from the field. Calloway gets to his mid-range shot nicely and can rise above defenders to get his shot off. He was a focal point in the Storms offense already, so expect to see him more in the coming years.

[player_tooltip player_id='2457277' first='Kaden' last='Veldman'] - Lynden Christian HS - Kaden didn't get many minutes on the varsity level as he sat behind [player_tooltip player_id='1457515' first='Jeremiah' last='Wright'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2158603' first='Kayden' last='Stuit']. Veldman is a strong 6'2" post who finishes very nicely around the rim and has been improving his footwork as he gains knowledge from Wright and Stuit. Veldman will have a big summer with Team360Hoops.

[player_tooltip player_id='2182848' first='Quincy' last='Tanovan'] - Sehome HS - Quincy is a bit undersized for the varsity level but his work ethic helps him earn minutes for Sehome as a freshman. Tanovan is a phenomenal shooter from deep, being able to sink shots 3 feet behind the three point line. He grew in height, standing roughly at 6'0" now but does need to gain more body weight and have a stronger right hand to really catch college coaches attention.

Dane Ackerman - Nooksack Valley HS - Dane is a strong post presence for the Pioneers. He played alongside his brother, Brady, as they both compliment each other nicely. Dane knows how to box out with great technique, being a monster on the glass. He is working on his mid-range and deep shots to make his game more well rounded.

[player_tooltip player_id='2392727' first='Dawson' last='Hintz'] - Lynden Christian HS - Dawson is another freshman in the NWC who did play some minutes at the varsity level. He is a 6'0" guard who can shoot lights out from deep but is also a threat to put the ball on the floor and get to the bucket. He controls the pace of the game well, having a high IQ for the game. He is going to be a much bigger part of the Lyncs team next year and will be a name to knwo
