The second half of Richland’s dynamic duo, Horntvedt scored the third-most points in the tournament, and he often did so in a pretty demoralizing manner. The 6-foot-8 guard was maybe the most unique player in the tournament, with his ability to play with strength and power inside, and his potent midrange game that included turnarounds and pull-up jumpers over tight defense. It was simply too much to ask a team to defend both him and Northrop. Horntvedt also took on some key defensive roles, including matching up with

Horntvedt was just too much for the Rams inside the arc, going 9-for-11 on twos with a handful of dunks and shots in close, but also mixed in a couple of midrange shots where he just elevated over the defense. His size was a factor on the defensive end too, where he matched up with

Has had a great spring and summer and continued to elevate his play at the Battle in Seattle. Was strong getting to the middle with some drives from the wings and corner. Used his size and strength once he had the edge on defenders to power up and showed some nice soft touch finishing with defenders beating down on him. Continued to show improvements with his dribble, not just getting to the rim, but creating separation for jumpers and using various moves to get that first step advantage on the perimeter.
