Expert Analysis
Sam Duren | Prep Hoops Scout
Talley appears to be playing some of the best ball of any player in Class 6A. He earned Tournament MVP honors for his Tigers that went 3-0 on the weekend. Will log big minutes competing against taller post players on the block. He’ll also be at the top of a press/trapping on the perimeter. His defensive versatility is critical for one of Oklahoma’s elite teams.
Offensively he’s a springy rim runner, who is a lob threat or explosive finisher in transition. While also capable of hitting enough jumpers that he must be respected. Which then drags opposing bigs out of position. Fun, high motor prospect, who appears to be just scratching the surface of his potential regarding the next level.

Was a high energy match up problem in the first quarter. When Union’s big stepped out to deny his jumper, he would blow by him for scores at the rim. When given space, he hit in the 15-18 range. And in general was a high energy, inside-outside threat. His hops and big wingspan allows him to compete around the rim on defense and be an active rebounder. Strong game for one of Oklahoma’s top available versatile prospects.

One of the best players at the event, Talley was relentless in multiple viewings this weekend. He was especially a beast in the semifinals, out producing a similarly talented fellow 918 forward prospect.
What really separates Talley is how quick he is off his feet when it comes to blocking shots, rebounding, finishing and even denying post entry passes on a taller post. He’s also agile, which allows to cover guards, Talley has the tools to be one of the best defenders in Oklahoma this high school season. What could really elevate his game is the way he shot the ball from distance, especially in the title game. If that shooting performance is an indication of the work he’s put in this summer on his jumper, then he should be a priority for regional small colleges as more of a true wing prospect.
Broken Arrow will be one of the deepest teams in Oklahoma this season and Talley will be at the forefront of the charging and talented Tigers.

The second Broken Arrow Tiger on this list, Talley is a pogo stick type forward prospect. In a Saturday contest, he was all over the rim on both ends of the court. From tipping in and securing rebounds, to altering shots he is a game changer around the basket. But it’s more that his just his verticality that makes him a defensive dynamo. He can move his feet well when switched onto guards, with great feel and timing to make life miserable for guards who are hunting switches. After playing a key role on the 6A semifinalist, the athletic 2025 forward is set for a huge summer that should see his offensive game continue to expand.
