Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase Player Evaluations: Team 20

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase has become an annual event that rivals any put on throughout the year in the Hoosier State. On Sunday afternoon and evening at Fishers High School nearly 200 of the states best Class of 2027 prospects came to display their skills in front of many of the most influential people in Indiana High School Basketball. This event is the premier way to get “on the radar” prior to your high school career. Over the next week or so it will become clear why we always say “nobody does content and event coverage like Prep Hoops Indiana.” With that said, here are the player evaluations from Team 20 of the 2023 Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>***With nearly 200 prospects at our event, our scouting staff (of three people) divided up the 20 teams to ensure that we could get evaluations of every player. However, as you can imagine, this is not the easiest task. Our staff watched each team they were assigned to for a minimum of one full game. There were some late player additions and walk-ups that threw a wrench into some rosters as well. Delgado showcased his court vision and passing ability throughout Sunday's Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase and looked to have some raw playmaking chops. Rodgers creates for himself consistently on the perimeter and has the playmaking ability to dish to his open teammates when drawing the help defense. He scored it from all three levels at different times knocking down an open three-point shot, getting into the paint to finish with a floater, and going coast-to-coast after a steal for a layup. Moran III is a skilled perimeter player that looks the part athletically and can clearly put the ball in the basket. Fuller was one of the more dynamic guards at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase displaying his high-level quickness with the ball in his hands. He can get downhill in a hurry, turn on the jets in transition, and then stop on a dime for a pull-up jump shot. There is a real explosiveness to his game off of the dribble that really stands out. He was crafty on the perimeter with some impressive drives, quick change of direction, and a knack for getting a piece of the paint. From there, he showed the ability to make good reads while keeping his head up and scanning the floor for an open teammate. He has good size, strength, and athleticism which allows him to physically hold his own on both ends of the floor. On the defensive side of the floor he is a very good rebounder and uses his strength to both the ball. He is very good ball handler that maintains control when going at full speed and can absorb some contact on the way to the basket. Hammond dominated his opponents around the basket and was able to control the space defensively as well. He rebounds at a high level, is very strong, and has a smooth outside shot that looks repeatable. Jones, a Lawrence North High School product, certainly looks the part on the floor with his athletic gifts and it translated to some offensive production. He was able to attack closeouts from the perimeter, finish with some impressive floaters in the paint, and flashed some of his athleticism at the end of his drives at the rim. At 6'5u0022 with excellent ball handling ability, the Penn High School product dominated off of the dribble. He can get downhill seemingly anytime he wants due to the combination of size, skill, and athleticism. Anytime you come across a guy with his size and true point guard skills you are bound to be impressed.
