That being said, there are a lot of guys who could step up to fill those teams and stake their claim as some of the top players in their league. Here are some of the names to watch heading into the winter season.
Returning All-League Players
First-Team
Trevor Hennig Trevor Hennig 6'4" | SG Mt Si | 2024 State WA Mt Si ’24
Hennig is a key guy for a team looking to make another run at a state title game. He missed out on their 2021-22 title game, and his team came up short last season, falling to Olympia who finished second in the 4A tournament. Hennig led the team in scoring (19.0 ppg) last season and has looked extremely motivated this summer, while also picking up an offer from Weber State after the June D1 Event.
Second-Team
Blake Forrest Blake Forrest 6'0" | PG Mt Si | 2024 State WA Mt Si ’24
Forrest is a bursty guard who can shoot, pass, defend, and has a vast array of moves to make guys jump once he gets in the paint. He’s a crafty guard that plays with a lot of fight and is another Mt Si Wildcat looking to finish his high school career on top. He led the Wildcats in assists (6.0 apg) and steals (2.2 spg) last season.
Jamison Atwood Jamison Atwood 6'5" | SF Woodinville | 2024 State WA Woodinville ’24
Atwood is a strong forward that does a ton of work on the glass and gets downhill off the catch to bully his way to the rim. The 2022-23 second-team all-league selection has looked like a big improver this summer, tightening up the handle and the jumper to be a more efficient offensive threat.
Honorable Mention
Caden Culver Caden Culver 5'10" | PG Skyline | 2024 State WA Skyline ’24
True leader on the floor who can dish and score the rock. He’s got the strength to finish against contact inside and plays a smart all-around game. I’d expect him to make a leap scoring the ball this winter and announce himself as one of the top players in the KingCo 4A.
Romen Jackson North Creek ’24
Jackson posted an impressive junior season, averaging 13.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.5 steals per contest. He’s a bursty guard who can elevate at the rim and is strong with the ball in his hands. He’s shown he can explode for big scoring games and has the ability to create, posting 10 games with 4+ assists, and six of those with six or more.
Other Players to Watch
Atticus Boba Atticus Boba 6'3" | SG Skyline | 2024 State WA Skyline ’24
Boba is a candidate to pick up a lot of the scoring vacated by last year’s senior class. He has good touch on the jumper, is strong at the rim, and can elevate through contact pretty well. He should also be a plus defender and rebounder, and someone who can defend multiple positions.
Reuhen Bhalod Reuhen Bhalod 6'5" | SF Inglemoor | 2025 State WA Inglemoor ’25
Bhalod is a lefty combo forward that has good touch around the paint and showed some potential creating shots off the dribble last season, averaging 10.4 points and 6.9 rebounds per game. He’s a pretty effective scorer from the mid-range and in towards the hoop, but has the kind of stroke that could start to translate more from behind the arc.
Aman Sterling Aman Sterling 6'4" | SG Inglemoor | 2025 State WA Inglemoor ’25
Sterling is an up-and-coming shooter who could make a big splash this winter. He made a three in all but four games last season, and hit multiple threes in six games, on his way to averaging just over seven points per game. He should have a bigger impact this season with just about half of the varsity squad returning in 2023-24.
Carter DuBreuil Carter DuBreuil 6'2" | SG Issaquah | 2024 State WA Issaquah ’24
Dubreuil was a tough defender last season and with his strength at the guard position he’s able to defend against drives at a high level and be a big contributor on the glass. He’s a hustle guy that sells out for loose balls, can hit some outside shots, and is pretty strong around the rim. He does a lot of little things but should get a bigger opportunity on offense this winter.
Jake Bonnofsky Jake Bonnofsky 6'0" | PG Mt Si | 2025 State WA Mt Si ’25
Bonnofsky is going to step into a much bigger role this season and everything he’s done this summer says he’s ready for it. He’s a smart ballhandler who can get penetration and handle pressure well, can score inside and out, and works hard on the defensive end. He might not get the big numbers at Mt Si this winter, but he’ll be a key player on a top team.
Lattimore Ford Lattimore Ford 6'6" | SF Mt Si | 2026 State WA Mt Si ’26
The Mt Si sophomore has been making big moves this spring and summer, showing out during live periods and having a pretty solid summer with Beauchamp Elite’s 17u squad. Ford is a big, strong, athletic forward who’s shown an excellent attacking mindset to get to the rim, wipe the boards clean, and defend the rim. He’ll be a big-name newcomer to the KingCo this winter.
Langston Ford Langston Ford 6'7" | SF Mt Si | 2024 WA Mt Si ’24
We can’t forget about Langston either, the older Ford brother is another reason Mt Si might just be the favorite in the 4A this coming season. He’s an athletic forward who can punish the rim, fights to finish through contact in the paint, and can be an absolute terror on the offensive glass.
Silas Woodward Silas Woodward 6'5" | SF North Creek | 2024 State WA North Creek ’24
Woodward has an outside shot at making an all-league team next season. North Creek’s leading scorer from last season graduated (Drew Jensen), and Woodward is one of the better shot-creators returning for the Jaguars. He can put it on the floor, is fairly athletic around the rim, has potential in the mid-range with a pretty good pull-up, and can hit from the outside. He averaged just under 10 points per game last season.
Carter Cohen Carter Cohen 6'8" | SF North Creek | 2026 State WA North Creek ’26
The sophomore big man out of North Creek has shown some nice improvement this summer and could be a younger player that makes a case for an all-league honorable mention. He can shoot the ball from deep, has been getting tougher at the rim, has good touch around the paint, and is getting more fluid with the ball. He’ll be one to keep an eye on this season.
Nicholas Schnieder Nicholas Schnieder 6'2" | PG Redmond | 2025 State WA Redmond ’25
Schneider ran point for the Mustangs last season and proved to be a pretty capable ballhandler and a guy who can attack from the top and create some stuff off the dribble. He’s a worker too. He makes an impact on both ends, has good change of speed on his cuts, sets hard screens, and looks like a kid that could make a pretty decent impact for Redmond next season.
Jaiden Blackmon Jaiden Blackmon 6'3" | PG Woodinville | 2024 State WA Woodinville ’24
Blackmon is a bigger guard that can really stroke it when he gets going. He’s able to fill either guard spot, can run the offense and distribute at times, and has been improving on the defensive end. He’s shown some really impressive flashes over the last year or so and could be in for a big season.
Warren Bullock Warren Bullock 5'8" | PG Woodinville | 2025 State WA Woodinville ’25
I like this kids’ game a lot. He’s a quick, intuitive player that can make an impact on both ends. Has a good feel for working through traffic, quick hands on the defensive end, and already played big minutes last season. He’s one of four returners for Woodinville with starting experience who should help them be a very competitive team next season.
Hudson Duff Hudson Duff 6'5" | SG Woodinville | 2024 State WA Woodinville ’24
Duff is a big, strong, athletic forward who plays pretty strong on both ends. He provides some good versatility on the defensive end and can be a super solid rebounder on both sides. He’s shown some ability to shoot pretty well from the mid-range too and will be a key guy operating around the paint for the Falcons.
