15/16 U Guard Standouts from Midwest Jamfest

A big-time competitor, Woidke had an injury that held him out for the second half of the football season and the basketball season for Saint Ignatius as a Sophomore. Excited to be back out on the court, his intensity was obvious from the moment he stepped on the floor. I was also impressed by the burst Woidke showed with the ball in his hands and his ability to change speeds. A couple transition slams showed the explosiveness Woidke has as well. Washington has impressive physical tools with a long wingspan and is fast in transition. I was impressed with his ability to push the pace in transition, grabbing and going off rebounds and throwing ahead to teammates further down the court that led to a couple slam dunks. Washington then flashed some shooting ability with a couple mid-range pull-ups off the bounce either attacking a closeout or in the pick-and-roll. Perkins plays with good pace and under control, making a few really impressive passes off the live dribble. Another area where Perkins shined was with throw ahead passes to jumpstart the fast break for his team. After having a couple of his early 3-point attempts go in and out, Perkins found his range from the outside and started getting hot from long distance. I was impressed with his outside shooting ability, letting it fly from down-town early and often. A dangerous shooter off the catch, Davis moved well without the ball and showed no hesitation when one of his guards fed him the rock with his feet set. I was also impressed by Davis ability to play bigger than his height with a strong frame and impressive motor on the glass and defending in the post. Urban is a wing guard who shot it well off the catch and found success attacking off dribble handoffs. Urban finished going to his left off either one or two feet and played within the offense.
