McAlister is a tough kid who isn’t afraid to do the dirty work to impact the game. A player who rebounds much better than his height would suggest and dives on the floor for loose balls, McAlister’s effort levels are never questioned by me. Combine that with some strong finishes through contact and a couple time and space jumpers and McAlister had a solid overall outing on Sunday.

A teammate of Ingram Jr’s with Hopson Elite , McAlister is an undersized wing who wants to be physical in the paint. The lefty uses his body to gain position and score in the post. Also a tough rebounder, McAlister isn’t afraid to mix it up with players much bigger than him on the court. One of the better defenders and athletes in the Toledo city league, McAlister is a name to know from that part of the state.

Hopson Elite got a gritty victory on Friday night with a one-point win. In the second half it was takeover time for McAlister and he put the game into his own hands. Tough to stop when he attacks with his left hand, McAlister was posting up weaker defenders and backing them into the paint with his strength. With a couple and-1 finishes due to his strength, McAlister is a tough cover due to his determination to get to the rim. Walked away impressed with the toughness Hopson Elite showed down the stretch to get a hard-fought victory to start their weekend.

McAlister is a hooper. He plays very well with contact for a 6’1 guard. He is a slash-first player who has great body control in the air. He finishes through traffic very well. He does a really good job of creating contact with the defense and adjusting to get to a good angle to finish. He is also a very good defender. He applies great pressure on the offensive player creating steals. He has a knack for getting loose balls. McAlister is also a sneaky good blocker.

Hopson Elite Jarrett’s 16 U squad has been impressive this spring and this duo has already caught my eye. I’m excited to watch them again and hopefully find some more talented prospects on this team!

The final prospect in this article had the defensive clamps on Sunday afternoon with a couple steals in the full court press his team used to get back into the game against Kyle Guy Elite HGSL 16 U. Mcalister finished around the rim with his left hand and played hard crashing the glass as well. However, his biggest impact came defensively as a run and jump defender and applying on-ball pressure. I’m excited to continue to follow Hopson Elite’s 16 U squad as they play an exciting brand of basketball with well-rounded production.
