Landers went over 1,000 points in the third quarter of Middletown’s GMC road victory over Hamilton. That was in the middle of a huge run by the Middies who erased a double-digit first half deficit and ended up with a comfortable victory. Landers is a strong and shifty lead guard who wants to attack downhill and get to the rim. He does a nice job of finishing through contact and drawing fouls in the paint. He also knocked down a couple of mid-range pull-ups, which was the method he used to go over the 1,000 point mark for his career. I was impressed by the resiliency that the Middies showed after falling behind by so much early to get a road win.

Middletown earned their win over Winton Woods in front of almost a sold out crowd at Princeton High School. I was impressed with how Middletown made the hustle plays and took care of the basketball. Landers fit both of those descriptions as he attacked the rim with a lot of aggression. A strong player, you can see why Landers is so productive on the gridiron as well. Able to finish through contact and plays with good balance at the rim. Landers also drew a lot of contact on his drives, shooting 11 free throws. I thought Middletown also got solid production from

Landers is at a new home in Middletown and the Middles are in the middle of the pack in a tight GMC conference race. Landers has been impressive this season at scoring the basketball, 12.8 PPG shooting 38% from 3-point range. Landers is dangerous when attacking downhill with the ball in his hands and can pull-up in your face as well. For Landers, the biggest development for him will be becoming a point guard instead of a combo guard. With 3.0 turnovers and 1.9 assists per game, Landers will look to flip those numbers as he matures as a guard. This is one of the most talented guards in SW Ohio’s 2025 class and Landers has the skills to move up the rankings with the proper development over the next few years.

Landers came into the event one of the most anticipated 2025s with his play and the news of his transfer to Middletown. In Columbus, Landers showed a mature feel, taking contact and connecting on shots and passes. Unlike other young guards, Landers slows the game and can compete in both a half court and full court style of play. It’s early but Landers should be a priority for college coaches when 2025 becomes a priority recruiting class.
