Here are the latest recruiting updates for the past week.
Carey Jr. keeps blowing up
Georgetown, TCU and Memphis all offered 2019 University power forward Vernon Carey Jr. last Thursday. With an already long list of scholarship offers, Carey Jr. continues to blow up. He’s running with Nike Team Florida this summer and doing his thing.
Devoe lands two more solid offers
2018 guard Michael Devoe recently made the move to Montverde. Last week, he earned two more offers to add to his impressive list from West Virginia and Oklahoma State. The rising senior is balling out this summer from Nike South Beach.
The Walkers are on the rise
There is no blood relation here between 2019 Orlando Christian Prep forward C.J. Walker and 2020 Bishop Snyder forward Corey Walker. However, they are both blowing up right now.
C.J. visited UF this past week while earning offers Mississippi State, Auburn, USF and Vanderbilt. Alabama came calling earlier this month. Corey drew offers from UF and Georgia Tech. FSU came calling earlier this month. These two young forwards are packed with talent.
Days lands a big one
Kansas and Pittsburgh were among 10 offers 2018 The Rock forward Darius Days earned last month. This past week, he added a really big offer to his plate in Ohio State. Days has been noticed and that is no surprise. He’s the real deal at 6’6″, 180 lbs.
E1T1 pair earn FGCU offers
2019 Lakeland forward Luke Anderson and 2019 Booker guard Johnnie Williams each earned an offer from FGCU last week. Anderson is noticeably stronger and still a very talented shooter. Williams is an all-around athlete. They both form a pair for E1T1 this summer.
Showtime Ballers trio earn offers
2018 Tampa Bay Tech forward Tyrese Williams went into last week with no offers. He came away with two from FIU and Stetson. Once of his teammates at Showtime, a 2019 guard from West Oaks Tyrell Jones also earned those two offers. Another guy at Showtime, 2018 forward Keyshawn Bryant earned offers from FIU and Georgia Southern last week.
King adds two more
2019 Plant City Justyn King proved he belonged last high school season. The Nike Team Florida big man generated offers from Stetson and Northern Arizona last week. He is lengthy, a good shooter and very physical on the boards.
UAB offers White and Smith
2019 Choctawhatchee forward Diante Smith and 2019 Lakewood guard Jaylen White each earned offers from UAB last week. Smith and White are really sound players and good ballhandlers.
Commitments
2017 Fletcher guard Tyron Bond will go JUCO and play at Trinity College of Florida.
2017 Royal Palm Beach guard Leonard Thorpe announced his commitment to UNC Asheville on Sunday. He says he felt that he needed to be there academic and basketball wise.
