Buncombe County’s Best
The largest county in Western North Carolina, Buncombe is where the largest city in the region Asheville sits. Some good players have came through the mountain county with a population of around 230,000.
Most notably Rashad McCants, Brad Daugherty, Henry Logan, Roy Williams (UNC head coach) and Buzz Peterson to name a few. Miles and Mason Plumlee played at Christ School before their NBA career started.
The area has it’s fair share of players that could find their name on this list in years to come.
Caleb Mills (6’5, 2019, Asheville Christian/Big Shots JWB)-Mills is a hybrid point guard that has the length at the position that is becoming more and more popular among college coaches. He can score from all points on the floor and is a great passer.
Caleb MillsIsaiah Pruett (5’9, 2018, Reynolds HS)-A little undersized at the PG position but can hold his own. A natural point guard that can find open teammates and can get his shot off with a quck dribble and first-step.
Justice Ajogbor (6’9 C Christ School/PSB Select) Ajogbor is a 6-foot-9 power forward who has long arms and can disrupt shots and passing lanes. He has the ability to knock down a mid range shot Ajogbor has continues to adapt to the American pace of the game and his footwork is starting to catch up with his body. He has a soft touch around the basket and is skilled for a big man at this age.
Raishaun Brown (6’1, 2019, Asheville Christian/Big Shots JWB)- An elusive high IQ guard that’s can either be a true
point guard or scoring guard whatever you need he will provide it, he

Has good size for a guard and understands how to pick his spots without stopping the flow of the game.
Jalen Lecque (6’2, SG, 2019, Christ School/Southern Stampede)-Not many players if any have had the spring that Jalen Lecque has put together over the past couple of months. The high-flying guard is known to “put defenders on a poster” with his leaping ability and strong finishes at the rim.
Jake Smith (6’0, PG, 2019, Enka HS/Team SC)- Smith is a skilled point guard with a very high basketball IQ. Understands the game at a high level, has a great stroke, gets better every time I see him. Will be one of the best guards in the area this time next year.
