He rebounds well for his position and uses his strength to get to the rack and finish through contact. Offensively, he can score in multiple ways, including knocking down the three when left open. Crumble was one of the most dominant high school players in Ohio with the size, strength and interior scoring ability to overpower smaller prospects. Crumble is taking his talents to Long Island Lutheran, another one of the most stacked teams in the country. My first chance to watch Lutheran East all summer did not disappoint me as the young Falcons went 2-0 against some tough competition. Crumble is the senior leader on the squad and returned from a visit to Stanford with a productive night of basketball. Crumble had a couple nice passes including a big-to-big assist and an extra pass to a shooter on the perimeter. Crumble also drew a couple fouls just being aggressive on the interior. The Falcons have a chance to win a fourth straight state title with Crumble leading an extremely talented group of younger prospects.

Crumble showcased his ability to make highlight plays on both ends of the floor throughout the game. One of my favorite things about his game is he plays extremely hard whenever he is in the game and it’s a skill a lot of players don’t have. He had a game high of 27 points. Crumble showcased his athleticism collecting rebounds and from the dunker spots around the paint. He also was able to block shots with ease.

Returning to Lutheran East, Crumble looks like a new player out there as he slimmed down and looks more mobile on both ends of the court. The most experienced player on a young Lutheran East roster, Crumble is a leader who their younger guys will look up to on the court. I was also impressed with his motor on Saturday, getting a ton of dunks by running the floor and being in the right spots in transition. Add in a couple jumpers with his feet set and Crumble looks like a player who spent the fall developing key aspects of his game that will make him even tougher to stop this season.

Lutheran East had a big almost win the award last year as Jesse McCulloch was a strong candidate. The Falcons lose a ton of seniors but bring in Crumble back after he spent his freshman year with the Falcons. Lutheran East has been a mainstay in the state tournament and if Crumble can help lead a young Falcons squad back to Dayton, he’ll have a case to be a finalist for the award.
