Jermaine Washington Jr. had 20 points for Rancho Verde on Thursday afternoon in a tightly contested win over San Clemente. Washington started quickly in this one with 10 points in the first half but it was down the stretch that he put the game away with multiple threes and lockdown defense. Washington Jr’s shot selection and quality will likely improve at the next level as he currently plays in an offense where he has to create everything on his own without much, if any structure.
Anthony Smith Jr.
Anthony Smith Jr.
Anthony Smith Jr. had 19 points for Rancho Verde on Thursday in a competitive win over San Clemente. Smith Jr. used his elite quickness to dart in and out of the paint area causing constant issues for the defense. Anthony’s playmaking ability and ability to score under and around taller defenders allows him to play out of the high post even though he typically has to give up some size to defenders in that area.
Christian Fernandez
Christian Fernandez
Christian Fernandez showed off his sharpshooting abilities on Thursday night by hitting 6 three-pointers for San Clemente in a tough loss to Rancho Verde. Fernandez single handedly busted Rancho Verde’s zone in this one as the Mustangs were forced to drop out of their 2/3 zone to start the 4th quarter. Christian expertly found space within the zone and his quick release gave Rancho Verde fits all afternoon.
Jayden Schnabl

Jayden Schnabl had 17 points and 3 three-pointers on Thursday afternoon in a difficult loss to Rancho Verde. Schnabl shot well off the dribble in this one creating 2 out of his 3 three pointers via tight dribble moves as well as making several nice mid range jump shots running off screens.
