Holding offers from Asbury and Campbellsville-Harrodsburg, Mastin already has a couple of options but is capable of earning more with a strong Senior season. At 6’7, Mastin showed he can play inside and out at Augusta before transferring to Mason County this summer. A high academic prospect, Riley is the kind of player who can go to an in state NAIA school and play without costing a school much (if anything) in basketball money.
Eli is a player who can score the ball inside and out and has gotten more comfortable putting the ball on the floor over his basketball career. Brooks has had a quiet career to this point but has the tools to be an impact player in his Senior season and Barren County is going to need him to step up for sure. As a college prospect, the 6’9 Brooks has long term potential and could be a steal in the spring signing period.
Speaking of kids who will be signing day steals, you don’t see many under-recruited 7 footers but Sam fits that bill. Gibson’s recruiting has been slow because he used to be slow on the court. But the big fella worked to transform his body and has improved his overall athleticism. As a college prospect, I would absolutely take a chance on a high academic 7 footer with the potential of Sam if I were a D2 or NAIA school.
Rose is a versatile big who has battled through injuries but still has potential as a college big man in the right system. Ryan nearly averaged a double double last season for Johnson Central and has shown that he can step out and hit three pointers (40% in limited sample last year). As Rose keeps getting stronger and becomes a better athlete, his potential is going to continue climbing. He would be a really nice pickup for a school like Alice Lloyd or Kentucky Christian.
Because the Senior class at Grant is deep with talent, Wills can often be overlooked on the Braves roster but he’s a legitimate 6’9 and is especially effective in the pick and roll. If a school takes a chance on Micah and he can become a more active rebounder, he will be a really nice college player by his Sophomore season. Wills has the physical tools but needs to keep getting stronger and getting his motor running all the time to reach the next level. He’s one to watch for sure.
