I truly believe that Jack could be the Patriots’ most valuable player. He’s the team’s primary ball handler, and he handles pressure with composure. On the season, he’s filled it up as he’s averaging 8.7 points, 6.8 assists, and 3.3 rebounds a game. The thing is, he seems to be better with better competition. Jack steps up in big games and brings it on both ends of the floor. He’s the calm to this team, and he’s the floor general. He’s the team’s connector and could be the difference in whether they go far or not.

Young does a little bit of everything for 9-4 George Washington, and his all around impact is why his stock continues to rise. Averaging 9.8 points, 6.6 assists, 3.6 rebounds and 3.7 steals per game, he affects winning on both ends of the floor. As a true combo guard, he handles heavy ball pressure with confidence, breaks presses and consistently looks to get teammates involved. His three double doubles in points and assists show his ability to control tempo and take over as a playmaker. When he gets space, he’s deadly from deep and has a quick first step to blow by defenders where he’s very efficient in his mid and short shots as well. He’s rising in the rankings because of his consistency, defensive playmaking, and trust he earns in big moments, impacting games beyond the box score

The timing couldn’t be better on feeling as if Jack could pop this season. We went to see him last night, and he had himself a game. 21 points and 11 assists while leading George to another victory. He’s the team’s primary ballhandler, he settles the Patriots down, and he’s who gets the team in their sets. Jack is a pass-first guard who understands when he has to take over. He’s the team’s best shooter, and that’s been on display. Through 3 games, he’s shooting 50% from beyond the arc. He’s also leading the conference in assists at 8.0 apg and is averaging 4 steals per game. Jack has been on a tear to start the year and is a huge reason why the Patriots are 3-0. A big year is upcoming for him, and a player that many people need to get eyes on.

Young has taken his game to another level while building on his reputation as one of the purest shooters around. His range and quick release make him a constant threat from deep, forcing defenses to stay locked in at all times. What’s really stood out is how he’s expanded his game by using his handle and basketball IQ to create mismatches and open driving lanes. His hesitation move is a go to weapon, freezing defenders and giving him clean looks to attack the paint, where he shows off a smooth pull up jumper. On the defensive end Young brings great energy and toughness, playing aggressive man to man defense with active hands that turn into turnovers and transition opportunities. His growth as a complete two way player has him quickly climbing the rankings
