In this article I’ll break down some prospects who improved their stock with impressive play throughout the two sessions.
Chauncey Brashers Chauncey Brashers 6'0" | PG Lutheran East | 2024 State OH , 5’11 PG Lutheran East 2024: Brashers is a quick guard who scored a lot in the first game of the 5 on 5 part of the event. Brashers made open shots from distance and showed quickness defensively when guarding opposing ball-handlers. Brashers could play a key role as a distributor on a Lutheran East squad expected to compete for a state title.
Lachlan Robert MacDonald Lachlan Robert MacDonald 6'1" | SG Dublin Jerome | 2023 State OH , 6’1 CG Dublin Jerome 2023: MacDonald plays with a good motor, makes good decisions with the ball in his hands and I like his leadership qualities that he brings to the team. While MacDonald played with a bunch of his teammates from Ohio United, I usually think the team plays better with him on the court. MacDonald is a key piece for a Dublin Jerome squad expecting to compete for a district title once again in 2022-23.
Jaden Calloway Jaden Calloway 6'2" | SG Bishop Hartley | 2025 State OH , 6’0 PG Bishop Hartley 2025: Calloway got easy buckets in transition, outrunning other guards early in the 5 on 5 action of the second session. Calloway is also stronger than most other guards at his age and uses that to his advantage. Calloway played tough on ball defense, something that carries over from his Nova 15 U squad that is relentless on defense. Calloway was a major contributor as a freshman on varsity and continues to impress against older talent.
Seven Scott Seven Scott 6'4" | SF Bishop Watterson | 2023 State OH , 6’4 SF Bishop Watterson 2023: Scott was more of a roller in the pick and roll, used his size to finish inside. The first time I watched Scott he was pretty much strictly a catch and shoot option on the wing. This time I felt like he was more comfortable playing in the paint and cutting off the ball. I’ll be interested to see Scott this winter on an experienced Bishop Watterson squad.
Colin Minerd Colin Minerd 6'1" | SG Canal Winchester | 2023 State OH , 6’1 SG Canal Winchester 2023: Minerd was a huge stock riser from the event as he shot the ball at an extremely high level. The lefty plays with good pace and has vision to find his teammates. Minerd plays mostly a connector piece as a point guard on his Mid Ohio Pumas squad but sharing the floor with a point guard looking to get him spot-up looks off-ball really helped him shine in this event.
Anthony Thompson Anthony Thompson 6'7" | SF Lebanon | 2026 State OH , 6’2 SG Lebanon 2026: Thompson is a deadeye shooter who can get shots in the mid-range. Already has good size from the off-guard spot and hit a floater from 10-12 feet. Thompson is one of the higher upside prospects in the 2026 class in Ohio that I’ve seen with his shooting ability, size and potential to grow considering his age and shoe size. This is a prospect college coaches will be monitoring sooner rather than later.
