Shane Lincoln Shane Lincoln 6'4" | PG Bishop O'Connell | 2025 VA has stuck around at this O’Connell program for a while, and he was one of their best players this year. You know you get elite defense from Shane, and he has an outstanding understanding of the game. Shane is a versatile defender, and I’ve seen him consistently make plays at the rim as a guard. Shane does well attacking the rim and has great instincts on both ends. If Shane develops more of a jump shot, it will take him to another level. Shane was a second-team selection in the WCAC. 

Shane is a lengthy and sound big guard who is one of the more versatile guards in the senior class. He has a high feel for the game, and his two-way guard play showed throughout the season. Using his length, quick passes and ability to score downhill was impactful throughout the season. His basketball instincts also shine through on defense, where he can combine that with his quick hands to get steals in the passing lanes and block rim attempts from the weak side…One improvement if made is Shane’s ability to knock down the perimeter jumper. If that part of his game improves LOOK OUT!

-Even though I wouldn’t call Lincoln a scorer per se, he comes up with some timely baskets each time his team seems to be going through an offensive drought. Lincoln plays chess on his drives to the paint, using a hop step to land two feet in the paint to force rotations before finding open teammates on the perimeter. The defensive IQ shines through when he is able to time his jabs at the basketball while playing from behind in the low post but also does a good job of reading the ballhandler’s eyes to jump passing lanes to ignite the fastbreak. His ability to make plays for others on the ball or as a connector from the wing makes him an invaluable piece for an O’Connell team that depends on ball movement to score this season.

Shane was fantastic on defense as well, and playing alongside Darius Bivins Darius Bivins 6'0" | PG Bishop O'Connell | 2026 State #74 Nation VA , they form a fantastic defensive duo in the backcourt. Shane is a versatile player who is a big piece of this team. He finished with 21 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists.

-Lincoln does a little bit of everything for a Knights team that is working in a lot of new faces this season. A heady PG that plays with good pace, Lincoln understands when his team REALLY needs a bucket to stave off a run or spark a comeback in a tight game. The senior guard’s feel has developed nicely over the years, consistently looking to turn a good shot into a great one for himself or his teammates off the bounce. Defensively- he has improved a bit, ratcheting up the activity off the ball to match his activity on the ball as a versatile defender that can guard 1-3 and some forwards at the HS level.

Shane hasn’t always had a huge role, but I think this year he will. Shane has a high IQ and is a great defender. He is a good passer and does a great job playing either guard position. Shane has the size and a lot of the intangibles you look for.
