Each time out, Batemon is one of the hardest working kids on the floor. He simply competes on every possession. And even though he scored 37 points and made big play after big play, he never calls attention to himself and instead locks in on the next possession. He is a pleasure to watch play the game because of his approach, and the Iowa State recruit is, without question, one of the strongest candidates for the Mr. Basketball award in Wisconsin.

Perhaps the best defensive player in the state, Batemon is a lock-down defender who can get on a roll with his perimeter shot on the other end. The Iowa State recruit is a key player for an outstanding Academy of Science squad that includes other NCAA Division I players. Batemon is averaging 24.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.9 assists while helping his team to a 13-1 record with the lone loss coming in overtime to De Pere.
