This past weekend the top grassroots teams from southeastern PA traveled to Manheim, Pennsylvania and Indianapolis, Indiana to compete in various spring grassroots events boasting extremely competitive fields. Needless to say, the region’s best grassroots teams were put to the test.
With two weeks of tournament action now in the books, we feel there is enough evidence to debut our Spring 2022, Top 10 rankings for southeastern Pennsylvania’s 16U grassroots teams.
Below are the 16U rankings for Week No. 1

Team Final
“played up” in the 17U division of the Hoop Group Spring Jam Fest event (Manheim, PA) and brought home the hardware (5-0). Along the way they defeated one of the hottest teams in Pennsylvania, PrimeTim3 17U, as well as the famed Rhode Island Elite 17U team. This TF squad has a ridiculously deep roster.
Thomas Sorber
Thomas Sorber 6'9" | C Archbishop Ryan | 2024 State #58 Nation PA , Moses Hipps
Moses Hipps 6'4" | SG AZ Compass Prep | 2024 State AZ , Robert Wright III
Robert Wright III 6'0" | PG Montverde Academy (FL) | 2024 State #35 Nation FL , and Amir Williams Amir Williams 6'6" | SF Neuman-Goretti | 2024 State PA all turned heads. Deuce Jones (NJ prospect) was also extremely impressive this past weekend.
- Philly Pride National UAA: After winning their 16U division at last week’s HG Spring Showdown, this squad traveled to Indiana for the UAA Session I event. They had a nice showing in Indy as well (3-1). Three-point ace
Greg Guidinger
Greg Guidinger 6'6" | SF Central York | 2024 State PA used his 19-point effort in the tourney opener as a springboard for a breakout weekend. The backcourt trio of Toby Ojukwu, Fazl Oshodi
Fazl Oshodi 6'3" | CG Friends Central | 2024 State PA and Ryan Williams
Ryan Williams 6'3" | SG Malvern Prep | 2024 State PA were consistent contributors all tourney.
- Philly Revolution: The Revolution ran up a 5-0 record and won their division at the Hoop Group Spring Jam Fest (Manheim, PA). Josh Reed helped his recruiting stock with dominating performances all weekend.
Kevin McCarthy
Kevin McCarthy 6'4" | SG Episcopal Academy | 2024 State PA (26 pts vs PK Flash) poured in threes across all five games. Tahir Howell Tahir Howell 6'4" | CG Archbishop Wood | 2024 State PA , Rocco Morabito, Devyn Wright-Myles, and Anthony Lilly contributed heavily as well. We expect this group will be a force this spring, especially when forward Jaden Murray
Jaden Murray 6'7" | PF Archbishop Ryan | 2024 State PA gets healthy.
- K-Low Elite 3SSB: This K-Low team experienced a rough weekend against national competition out in Indiana at the adidas 3SSB Live I tournament. However,

Darren Williams 6'4" | SG Archbishop Ryan | 2024 State PA , Touari “Deuce” Ketner
Touari “Deuce” Ketner 6'7" | PF Bonner-Prendergast | 2024 State PA , and EJ Campbell
EJ Campbell 6'0" | CG Spring Ford | 2024 State PA impressed with their high-level play. This roster is legit, so there is no need to panic over Ls in their first weekend of action.
- East Coast Power-Danzig: On the opening weekend of the Spring 2022 circuit, this ECP squad won their division of the Phight for Philly tournament. This past weekend they traveled out to Indiana for the UA Rise event and had a tough stretch of losses against fierce competition. But this team is loaded with talented perimeter prospects like Nicholai Smiley,
Billy Rayer
Billy Rayer 5'10" | PG Haverford Boys | 2024 State PA and Tyler Beaulieu Tyler Beaulieu 6'0" | CG Episcopal Academy | 2024 State PA . The interior is controlled by 6’7” forward Calvin Szoradi. So, we have faith this group will bounce back quickly.
