Hosted by Tournament Director Cecelia Tennert, the event is held to raise money for the Sierra Kids Foundation, a Reno based Non-Profit organization that supplements the efforts of three Northern Nevada programs that work directly with families and young children with Autism. The tournament featured high school teams from Northern California, Las Vegas, and Reno, with the Championship being taken home by Prephoops Nevada #1 Ranked 5A Bishop Gorman. The event featured quality point guard play. In this article, we take a look at the top Floor Generals from the event.
Jayden Teat Jayden Teat 6'3" | CG Capital Christian | 2023 State CA-N 6’1 Jesuit 2023 – When asked what his best skill was, Teat wasted no time answering “Leadership”. I concur. He played with the poise and savvy of an experienced veteran. The PG was charged with handling the ball against pressure, as well as scoring for his team. In a hard-fought semifinal game against Vacaville, the junior guard closed the game out, making his last 6 from the line.
Jordan Morency Jordan Morency 6'4" | PG Bishop Manogue | 2023 State NV 6’3 Bishop Manogue 2023 – I thought Morency played well on both sides of the ball. He displayed the ability to shoot it, handle and defend. The PG had three treys in his first game of the tournament and ended the event hounding Vacaville sharpshooter Gavin Hamill. He finished the event averaging 11.5ppg.
Conner Sheets Conner Sheets 6'1" | CG Spanish Springs | 2025 CA-N 5’11 Spanish Springs 2025 (#16PHN 2025) – The young freshman is not physically imposing, however, his skill is high level. Sheets, showed a terrific handle, a decent wiggle, and the ability to shoot the ball. A high IQ player, Sheets was asked to orchestrate the SS offense. He did a good job of delivering on time and on target passes to teammates, as well as showing the ability to make tough shots. He averaged just over 10ppg for the tournament.
Jahmon Haylock Jahmon Haylock 5'9" | PG Foothill | 2023 State NV 5’8 Foothill 2023 (#36PHN 2023) – The future is here. Haylock is going on my all-blow by team, as it was impossible for anyone to stay in front of him. He displayed both a quick first step, as well as high-level ball speed. The 5’8 PG used his speed and quickness on both ends, locking up on the ball. His quick hands made him one of the top pickpockets at the tournament.
David Nealy David Nealy 6'2" | SG Stranahan | 2026 #27 Nation FL 6’3 Bishop Gorman 2024 (#5PHN 2024) (featured image) – Richardson is arguably the best defensive player in the state. His length, quickness, and instincts grade out as elite, and he was able to use them to turn defense into instant offense. As if that wasn’t enough the sophomore PG shot the ball brilliantly, knocking down a three in every game, and 7 for the tournament, en route to helping the Gaels take home the tournament Championship.
