#71 Kalib Brooks Kalib Brooks 5'10" | PG MBA | 2022 State TN (Memphis Business Academy)
Kalib will play his first season for MBA in his final year of high school basketball. He was a dependable scorer for Freedom Prep earlier in his career. Kalib looks like a player that would thrive in the pick’n’roll though his teams did not utilize that system too often. Brooks can be successful as a catch-and-shoot guy if that role presents itself. Good poise. Lower body balance is better than average. Brooks was able to score from multiple points on the floor. Brooks gets dinged in the rankings for his 5-foot-9 size at the point guard spot and many of games with Freedom Prep came against non-college scholarship players. With Power he was a bit of a combo guard, but he projects as a lead guard for a small college.
#72 Rico Sain II Rico Sain II 6'2" | PG South Side | 2022 State TN (Jackson South Side)
South Side leans on Sain II to defend and score in bunches. This should be a breakout year for Sain II statewide, though his reputation locally has been strong for years. In the low-scoring, but fantastically momentuous Class AA State Championship Game of 2021, Sain II only scored three points in 24 minutes. Sain II did knock free two steals. Good not great off-ball defender. Sain II possesses an elite first step. Reliable free throw shooter. Sain II finds himself in the 70’s because he might not be a point guard at the college level. His turnovers in the playoffs were a little concerning.
#73 P.J. Hillman P.J. Hillman 6'2" | SG Power Center Academy | 2022 State TN (Power City Academy)
Athletic. Great size for the position of guard. Courtney Smith EVAL: P.J. Hillman, Power Center Academy: Hillman is a pure energy prospect. He brings that as soon as he steps on the floor. Like his teammate Jackson, Hillman loves to be disruptive on offense. Offensively, he can get any type of shot he wants to have. Hillman can play in an up-tempo setting. He thrives in transition. He’s a perfect teammate for Jackson, because Hillman’s a team-first player and can affect the game without being the team’s leading scorer.
#74 Jackson Garner Jackson Garner 6'0" | PG Clinton | 2022 State TN (Clinton)
Jackson is a bucket-getter. He is never satisfied offensively. Garner might be sitting pretty at 20 points in the cylinder, but the hunger is still high. Last season, Garner averaged 21.7 points per and helped on the glass a bit too. Garner is lower than guards with less skill for two reasons. He is a little small for his future position. Garner is still thin considering the physicality of the next level. Garner plays and will play with exceptional endurance. During his junior season the scorer regularly played 30+ minutes a night. Elite shooting touch, especially from range. Jackson is going to have a monster senior year statistically.
#75 Damon Fann Damon Fann 6'2" | SG Riverdale | 2022 State TN (LaVergne)
In October, Damon Fann Damon Fann 6'2" | SG Riverdale | 2022 State TN was listed as Preseason D8-4A First Team. Kind of a Dwyane-type.
Of the trio [Antioch, Lavergne, Smyrna], LaVergne is most likely to ascend into the top two teams this season. Transfer Damon Fann Damon Fann 6'2" | SG Riverdale | 2022 State TN is an instant impact guy, capable of taking over a game.
