This month we introduce our updated Class of 2022 rankings!! Rankings are subjective and PrepHoops.com ranks purely upon potential and where the player will be at their basketball peak.  Production factors in only when helping prove the potential is greater or lesser.  Why did we rank these guys?  Why are they at this spot?  Take a look at five Class of 2022 prospects and learn a little about their reputation.

Charlie Rice Charlie Rice 6'0" | PG Maryville | 2022 State TN is an unselfish, pass-first point guard with a gregarious personality.  Capable catch-and-shoot guy. For a player destined to play NAIA-ish basketball, Charlie boasts average speed with the basketball.  To clarify, among the pool of players likely to play NAIA, not all high school players, Charlie is in the middle of the pack regarding his quickness. Winning teams have a player or two like Charlie on them.

Nehemiah Ausley Nehemiah Ausley 5'10" | PG Christian Brothers | 2022 State TN is coming into his own

The rising senior had a 30-point performance against EENG Hoopers 2022 on Sunday. Ausley was making shots from the perimeter, slashing to the basket, making solid passes and playing competitive defense. He’s a prospect that’s hard to pull off the floor because of his competitiveness and willingness to help his team win a contest. Many people only get to see Ausley during the summer. He attends Christian Brothers High School and has had to wait his turn since the Purple Wave had a strong 2021 class ( Reese McMullen Reese McMullen 6'2" | SG Christian Brothers | 2021 State TN ,  Eli Federman Eli Federman 5'10" | PG Christian Brothers | 2021 State TN  and  Harrison Kelly Harrison Kelly 6'0" | SG Christian Brothers | 2021 State TN ) and a one-two punch in 2022 ( Chandler Jackson Chandler Jackson 6'5" | CG Christian Brothers | 2022 State #87 Nation TN  and  Zion Owens Zion Owens 5'10" | PG Christian Brothers | 2022 State TN ). This upcoming season, Ausley could make a name for himself if he’s given the opportunity to do so. After Sunday’s showing, it’s going to be hard to not give him a chance.

#68 Corey Savage Corey Savage 6'0" | SG FACS | 2022 State TN (FACS)

Blindingly fast in the open floor.  At times, Savage looks a little stifled in the halfcourt sets.  He, perhaps wisely, defers to a few teammates offensively.  Considering his athleticism and skills, Savage could be and would be a monster scorer at another school.  That he gives effective scoring and passing within the FACS system speaks to the strength of his team and his basketball character.  FACS has the team to contend for a state title, according to astute analyst Courtney Smith.

#69 Jaden Lyles Jaden Lyles 6'1" | PG Lipscomb Academy (football) | 2022 State TN

Jaden Lyles Jaden Lyles 6'1" | PG Lipscomb Academy (football) | 2022 State TN is capable of playing either basketball or football after his high school days.  On the basketball court, Jaden consistently plays a pass-first point guard.  Great patience, poise, and court vision.  Lyles’ body type is more hulking than a typical high school point guard though he maintains impressive quickness and lateral mobility.  

#70 Jose Rodriguez Jose Rodriguez 6'2" | PG Concord Christian School | 2022 State TN

Strong guard with versatile skill set.  Jose plays a lot of lead guard with football player size.  Rodriguez does not have the deepest team, so he is required to do everything.  Often.
