MVP: Chaundee Brown (The First Academy)
Brown, who is headed to Wake Forest had another big game for TFA, the strong guard can’t be stopped when he puts his head down and drives to the basket, he was big down the stretch when First Academy was trailing.
Best aspect of the environment: The crowd
The building was electric all night, the two rival schools battled on the floor and in the stands, with the crowd competing over who had the louder support, it was a very fun environment to be a part of.
Best offensive performance: David Nickelberry (Windermere Prep)
The Memphis bound senior showed what will make him a special player at the next level under Tubby Smith, he got to the basket at will and showed off the best aspect of his game which is his court vision, a very solid showing from David in his return to The First Academy.
Best defensive performance: Malik William (The First Academy)
Clemson commit Malik William flat out dominates the paint, it does not matter who is charging to the bucket, he is going to smack your shot. He finished the game with an incredible 10 blocks.
Best catch and shoot guy: Greg Summers (The First Academy)
The senior is a solid two guard, he has a good ability to get to the hole but the best part of his game is his catch and shoot ability.
Best intangibles: Rahsaan Lewis (Windermere Prep)
Rahsaan has a high motor and is always hustling, from diving on the floor chasing loose balls to the way he controls the offense and speaks to his team, Lewis has a high IQ.
Best under-the-radar performance: Rahsaan Lewis (Windermere Prep)
Lewis was a pest on defense all night, ending up with 3 huge steals and 1 key block, that 45 inch vertical is being put to good use.
Best passer: David Nickelberry (Windermere Prep)
His court vision is so impressive, he sees things that most people can’t. When he drives, he sets his teammates up for open looks, when his teammates cut he puts the ball in the perfect spot for them to finish. This part of his game will help him have a very successful career.
Best rebounder: Malik William (The First Academy)
William owns the paint, not only does he block everything but he controls the boards, he finished the night with 11 rebounds, looking forward to seeing him at the next level in the ACC.
Best story to watch moving forward: The First Academy and Windemere Prep
The regular season is now finished for both of these teams and they are favorites to get to Lakeland, these are two teams to watch moving forward.
