Continue ReadingSalt Lake Slam was once again a great opportunity for players to get more time on the floor. WCE always puts on great events and it is always great to see local teams that are rarely playing at home. With a mixture of high school teams and AAU teams in the event it was a great contrast of talent and skill.
Darius Henderson Darius Henderson 6'5" | PG Hunter | 2022 State UT | Hunter High School | Utah Premier | 2022 |
Darius had himself a weekend as he proved to be one of the top sleepers in the 2022 class out here in Utah. Darius is string and athletic as he works hard to get to his spots and has a good looking jumper. Keep an eye on him as he will power Hunter next year but he will also be a player to watch come this Spring.
Jake Payne Jake Payne 6'1" | PG Timpanogos | 2022 State UT | Timpanogos High School | Salt Lake Rebels | 2022 |
Jake is a strong lead guard that does a little bit of everything. He tracks the ball down on rebounds and he also shoots the ball well. He has a nice down hill game and works that pick n’ roll well. Like his handle and he could be a valuable player for his club and high school team moving forward.
Iv’Rson Lavizzo Iv’Rson Lavizzo 5'10" | PG Kearns | 2022 State UT | Kearns High School | UBC | 2022 |
This kid is fast and he can score. In the open floor he is a tough cover that gets space and by defenders. often times he can create some easy layup opportunities. Iv’rson is shifty and just puts a lot of pressure on on-ball defenders. Could be a major pick up for teams in the NWAC that want to get on this prospect early.
Nash Taylor | Olympus High School | Titans | 2024 |
Nash was out there looking like an upperclassmen that was allowed to play down. He is built and strong and he is skilled. Looking about 6’2 ish with muscle he was out there bullying his way all over the floor. He got some easy buckets but he is a nice dual-sport athlete to keep an eye on moving forward in that 2024 class.
Ace Reiser Ace Reiser 6'0" | PG Alta | 2024 State UT | Bingham High School | Miners | 2024 |
Ace was out there growing and learning as he was controlling the game and tempo for the miners, especially against Juan Diego who sat in a zone 90% of the game. His patience and IQ was on display. With time Ace is going to turn into a seasoned PG that can get others involved and get his own as well.
