The newcomers to the list are skilled lead guards who are capable of making an impact at the next level. Here are the top newly ranked point guards in the 2022 class.

[player_tooltip player_id="1025905" first="Jamarques" last="Lawrence"], 6’2 Roselle Catholic

Lawrence may play more of the ball at Roselle Catholic, but he is capable of running the offense. The Plainfield transfer is capable of scoring points in bunches and is hard to contain in the open floor. Lawrence is more than just a slasher as he has a nice shooting stroke and deep range. He draws contact going to the basket and is an underrated passer. Lawrence’s ability to score the basketball makes him a good addition to a loaded Roselle Catholic backcourt.

[player_tooltip player_id="1016677" first="Omarion" last="Jett-Dobbs"], 6’2 Morris Catholic

Jett-Dobbs may be more of a combo guard, but his ability to lead the offense makes him eligible for this list. The 6’2 guard is at his best in transition and is hard to keep out of the lane. Jett-Dobbs knows how to finish through contact and has a good handle. He works relentlessly on the glass and is a good all-around defender. Jett-Dobbs is a tough guard prospect who should have a big season for Morris Catholic.

[player_tooltip player_id="1034378" first="Nicholas" last="Barnes"], 6’4 Edison

[player_tooltip player_id="902735" first="Ty-Laur" last="Johnson"] may get more reps at the lead guard position for the Grey Bees, but Clark’s vision will make him almost impossible to keep away from the ball. The Easton transfer is extremely crafty with the ball in his hands and is hard to keep out of the lane. Clark is one of the top passers in the state and has a nice release on his jumper. The 6’5 lefty is a solid rebounder and knows how to move his feet on the defensive end. Clark is a talented guard prospect who should have a strong debut season for St. Benedict’s.

[player_tooltip player_id="1025373" first="Yathin" last="Vemula"], 6’0 South Brunswick
