Continue ReadingTravel basketball for the rising seniors in the class of 2021 has been either non-existent or extremely low profile for prospects in the state of Washington. In an unfortunate set of circumstances, several players are going under the radar or having more low-key recruitment than they probably would have had there been a club season this Spring and Summer. High school basketball is also looking to be up in the air with the season “postponed” until January for the time being. In the first part of a running series, these are multiple prospects in the 2021 class that are underrated, overlooked and/or under recruited. *All of these prospects are ranked outside of the top 10 and are uncommitted
2021 6’4 SG Noah Pepper Noah Pepper 6'4" | SG Selah | 2021 State WA (Selah HS) – No one is deserving of more recruitment in the state than the small school All-State level player, Noah Pepper Noah Pepper 6'4" | SG Selah | 2021 State WA . A mixture of strength, toughness, shooting ability and all around hustle in a sturdy 6’4 frame. Pepper has the attention of some smaller schools, but he could honestly fit in well at multiple different levels of college and bring similar impact to a program, because what he does will instantly translate. Pepper could be a high impact player over time in the GNAC/Division 2 school and I could also see him having a shot at a lower level Division 1 school if given the right opportunity.
2021 6’2 PG Cobi Campbell Cobi Campbell 6'2" | PG Puyallup | 2021 State WA (Puyallup HS) – This lefty point guard brings a lot to the table that college coaches claim they want from the point guard and shooting guard positions. Campbell is one of the state’s best shooters and can hit shots off the bounce very well. He is crafty out of pick and roll situations and his passing ability is above average as well. His quickness and jumping may not pop out initially, but when you watch him for an entire game or multiple games, then you can see the type of impact he has due to his skill and basketball IQ. Another guy that could impact a program at High D2 or low D1 level if given the right opportunity.
2021 6’5 SF Isaac Ticeson Isaac Ticeson 6'5" | SF Eastside Catholic | 2021 State WA (Eastside Catholic HS) – One of the state’s best utility players with the potential to develop into even more as time goes along at the college level. Ticeson has always played with high major Division 1 prospects in high school and travel ball with Seattle Rotary. He is a quality slasher and can catch and finish very well. A deceptively strong and quick leaper with some body control to get his shot off in the paint over length. The PLNU offered player could easily be attracting more Division 2 schools and likely would have had their been a club season.
2021 6’7 SF Hudson Hansen Hudson Hansen 6'8" | PF Bellevue | 2021 State WA (Bellevue HS) – One of the more intriguing prospects that is more so under the radar. At 6’7, Hansen is capable of playing some 1, 2 or 3 on the floor. He runs the point guard for Bellevue High School and also for FOH Seattle at times. With his length and versatility, he could easily play the shooting guard or small forward too which may be a more traditional position for him at the college level. He is slowly getting stronger and growing into his own body, which makes his potential that much more attractive. He can slash and score, attack and dish, as well as score in transition. A true pass first type of player that could easily develop into a versatile scorer and passer at next level.
