The Expo All Showcase (Pt 1)

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Expo was a huge success this fall, bringing in over 100 juniors and seniors from across the state. There were a lot of player we wanted to recognize for their outstanding play, but we narrowed down our All-Showcase performers to just 12 players from the event. He's utilizing that size and shooting combo to get to spots he likes and go to work. His ability to shoot over defenders made him a mismatch all day at the showcase, and he's been a lot more aggressive and physical across the board which helps him start in great spots with the ball. He has shown that ability to thrive in transition and space for a while now, but what has really improved, and was evident at The Expo was his shooting and strength off the bounce. He has the length at 6-foot-8 and the wing span to play constantly around the paint, but he also possesses that quick first step that gains him an advantage on defenders. With that kind of length, and a half step on defenders, he was constantly getting to the middle of the paint where he has the ability to finish or draw fouls. He's picked up two offers this fall, one from Lewis-Clark State, and one from Evergreen State. He was a kid who could space the floor, rebound, and add some defensive plays last season at Kentwood, but has grown as a slasher as well as improved his outside shot this spring and summer. He understands his strengths, plays at his own pace when he has the rock in hands, and has shown impressive touch for a player his size. Plays hard, does a lot of little things well that help him gain an advantage, and was one of the most polished post players at the event.
