But what makes him special as a shooter compared to others? For starters he is 6'5 and he is always quite confident in what he does. But I would also add, where Howe releases the ball and the arc he gets on his shot, it allows him to make shots when the defender is in a good close-out/shot contesting spot. And with the guards the Rebels have, he is going to be open often to make threes like he did vs Hopkins.

A new hair cut, some added muscle, he looked a little bit more like Quinton Hooker out there than I would ever thought (not the same of course but did some similar things). When it came to confident scorers on the floor, Owen was the guy that stepped forward for the Rebels, with the perimeter shot, the attacking scores, and the physical approach to going at his defender. Owen will have the time to be a scorer for the Rebels when Moussa and Gavin are moving it, and he will be the guy bringing it up at times too. There is going to be a lot of options for this Rebel coaching staff this year and Owen is one that will take advantage.

Austin caught my eye as a longer wing with ball skills who was on the floor at the start of the game for the Rebels. Carter raising back and denying a shot before it could kiss the glass, his floor run to finish, and his attack middle into a lifted pull-up, these were all early plays that showed his physical potential. Looks stronger and taller as well. Finished with either hand at the rim in this gaem as well.

Pound for pound, Waleed is one of the best scorers in the senior class and he is playing with Kwat who.... pound for pound is one of the best scorers in the state. The ball fake into the one dribble pull-up, the shoulder lean on the attack drawing the foul, the quick push the other way against a slow defense, putbacks and the feet set-hands up ready to catch when attacking teammates are on the move. The choices made to push against slow and move the ball, they were excellent. His leads to cutters and posts were on the money, his transition push was outstanding and Kwat scored often for his team. The jumper and transition baskets were the regulars in the box scorer for this game for him. Kwat used ball screens to force switches in the perfect way and every time he had a big on him, Kwat seemed to put the Rebels in a bad place.

Charlie has one of the best three point shooting touches in his class, we know that. But what makes him special as a shooter compared to others?
