At 6'2 as a freshman he already looked the part of a dominant rebounder at the 15u level, and now at around 6'5 heading into his junior season he continues to be a big threat on the glass. Offensively if he catches anywhere near the block he's not wasting any time looking to power his way up. Love how aggressive he plays on both ends of the floor. Whether he's cutting off the ball, pulling in an offensive board, or attacking off the dribble, he just has a nose for the rim. In the first half against Edina we saw him catch and face up at the elbow before attacking and finishing inside off of two dribbles. Early in the second he caught on the wing and was able to dribble into a post-up where he utilized his footwork to score inside again. Shortly after we again saw him operating off the dribble where he got into a pull-up jumper from around 15 feet and connected over a 6'6 defender. His ability to move and handle the ball at his size makes him so tough to match-up with.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->

With the departure of some key seniors from last year's state tournament team, Apple Valley needs some new names to step into big roles this winter. Tyrese looks capable of being a go-to guy this winter, and showed why as he led his team to a win over Park Center on Sunday. At 6'5 he's difficult to matchup with as he's such a threat from three point range, forcing size away from the basket. Tyrese showed that impressive shooting touch hitting a number of tough mid-range shots as well. With his high release point he's able to shoot over length with ease.
