Wings And Bigs Names To Know From D1 Jets Fall Open Runs

On Sunday, PHI had the opportunity to attend a Fall Open Run hosted by the D1 Jets in New Lenox, IL. The session provided a valuable look at players from the classes of 2028 and 2029. As guys are continuing to play throughout the Fall months, we were able to see some players who we had not seen since June or July. Below we will take a closer look at several wings and bigs who caught our attention throughout the day.    A mobile rim runner that plays with a consistent motor. Threatt has the length and size to impact the game not just around the basket but from the outside as well. He's a volume rebounder who affects the glass on both ends and is responsible for a lot of second chance opportunities with his activity. He continues to show excellent feel and anticipation to put himself in advantageous positions to win plays. One of the top 10 players of the 2029 class in the state with continued upside.     Gilbert popped on my radar in January in an all Joliet matchup as a freshman that provided good minutes. At 6'6 he continues to show perimeter value to stretch the floor and create spacing opportunities. He is poised on catches with soft hands and uses his length and plus wingspan to his advantage around the rim. Defensively he is laterally capable of guarding different assignments from inside and out. Gilberts' packaging of size and activity on both ends continues to give him versatile strengths heading into his Sophomore campaign.     An established guard that brings fluidity and a well rounded presence to both sides of the floor. Esterkamp is a proven shot maker from three that shows spacing ability to connect off the catch with confidence. Uses good footwork with step backs, pump fakes, and jabs to change speeds and then gets an angle on the closeout. Had one of the top if not the top feels in the gym today while using IQ to advantage. Keeps his head on a swivel in the primary break phase and delivers accurate pitch aheads to initiate opportunities. Runs the floor effectively to finish solo at times at or above the rim. A two way 6'4 versatile back court prospect that will continue to build stock as an efficient player in multiple phases.     A high motor off guard that establishes himself with solid activity on both sides. Showed good awareness on defensive positioning in multiple situations on and off the ball. Helped prevent clean opportunities on that side as well digging from denial position and getting into zero gap pressure. Offensively Woolman provides spacing opportunities as a shooter on the wing and brings a willingness to compete to win possessions.     Burhmester has intriguing upside with his length and the way he fills the wing spot effectively. He is a plus perimeter threat that can get heated up quickly off the catch or bounce from 3 land. There is noticeable athletic ability as well to play above the rim at times to create advantages. He runs the floor hard on both sides which helps speed the game up. Ceiling should continue to heighten.     A solid interior presence at this stage. Muhsen brings all of 6'10 to the floor which pops right away. He impacts mostly around the basket and has ability to create second chance opportunities off offensive rebounds. Defensively challenges shots at the rim with solid verticality which will only continue to improve. Uses his size to clog up lane lines for drivers. Muhsen brings noticeable upside with his developing skill set, physical tools, and serviceable hands and feet.
