Top Performers: CBG Fall Series Standouts Pt. 1

The CBG Fall series session 1 featured some of the top prospects from across the region, ranging from Division 1 prospects to Division 3 prospects. Take a closer look at the top performers from this weekend and names that deserve more college attention.    Camare' Young is a 6'5 Guard/wing who now attends Fork Union Post-Grad and was among the top performers at the CBG event. He scored in a variety of ways by knocking down threes, scoring off the dribble, and using his physical, college-ready frame to score inside through contact. Camare' did an excellent job controlling the tempo and pace when leading his teams at the 1 or the 2, and it's easy to see he can be a scholarship-level talent with his ability to take over games. Fork-Union has a load of talent who will be major title contenders in the Elite Prep League.     [player_tooltip player_id='3554525' first='Danny' last='Mooney'] was among the top performers on one of the CBG Elite teams. He is a tough and hard-nosed guard who isn't afraid of going against the best of the best. He averaged over 20 points per game and 5 assists per game as he was leading the charge for his team. He can light it up from beyond the arc, get downhill to create for himself or for others, and has really improved defensively. Danny made the right plays for his team, whether setting them up in the half-court or finding open guys in transition or off drive-and-kick scenarios. He will be among the top players in the region this year for Collegiate, and I fully expect his recruitment to skyrocket.     Blake is among the top performers in the entire event and showed his physicality and scoring versatility; although he's the biggest player on the Flint Hills roster, he can play inside or out. He is the perfect prototypical stretch 4 or athletic wing. He shot it at a high percentage and also scored at an efficient rate inside. Blake will be a name brought up often as one of the top players in VA in his class and has a legitimate chance to be a Division 1 prospect with his long-term upside.     [player_tooltip player_id='2548307' first='Logan' last='Brooks'] is a 6'3 Combo Guard who showed why college coaches should be tracking him closely: a big and athletic guard who got downhill early and often throughout the weekend. He defended 94 feet and forced turnovers on the opposition, and didn't allow the other team to get into their offense. He can run the 1 or the 2 and set his team up in their offense well; he will be a key player for the Evergreens squad this season.     [player_tooltip player_id='3538906' first='Niles' last='Mason'] is among the best players in his class and he displayed that once again with his ability to lead his team and take over games offensively. He scored 33 points against a CBG team, getting easy looks inside, knocking down mid-range jumpers, and playing in transition. Niles will continue to develop more and more confidence as a reliable scorer and versatile wing for The Steward School. He has already received Division 1 interest and offers, and I fully expect him to keep getting more attention as time goes on and he continues to develop a more consistent jump shot to become a dominant scoring threat from all 3 levels.
